Been going there, the field house, coliseum, and wherever Dayton played before the forty's! My dad was the scorekeeper, ticket manager, finance director of sports. We used to compile basketball tickets for football and basketball;. These were put into envelopes and then mailed to customers. Can you guess what the first song we learned as children was? The U D fight song! All nine children attended UD at some date and for of us are graduates! Not bad huh? We love Dayton, and that goes all the way to my father when he first attended St Mary's in 1920s. He played football , basketball, was in the R.OT C and later taught at UD. My father loved this University and really dedicated his entire life to bettering the school; Jack Brown, brother Elmer, Paul Heckman, Houston Brown and hundreds of others have given their hours, money and service for the love of our school. We must always remember them for their hard work. How they would love to visit and see all the changes! My father was on the arena committee and along with others fought to add another 1000 seats before construction began. They lost the fight, but whoever could believe that the arena is a sellout each game. he did! Thanks, but I got so lost and had to be rescued from some very nice gentlemen who proceeded to get us lost again, it was so very confusing, but I eventually found my way to section...
Read moreNice new clean venue offering plenty of circuses to surround the main event. The Flyers. Plenty of toilets and food / beer vendors but pretty limited menu. Large boards kept you well informed about game details and games being played elsewhere. Seats close to 14k. Sight lines are fine to the court ... But the venue seems confined as the roof isn't vaulted, rather a valley roof dips down in the middle. Maybe that's good accoustically but if your at the top, you can't see those seated at the same height the opposite side of the court. We walked to the event....2 miles or so from the heart of the campus. Parking near the arena seems adequate but you still need to sign in the traffic .... A brisk 10 min walk from parking near the Marriott seemed to be a good alternative and...
Read moreI went for a mass food distribution. It was my first time there. Sorry I can't tell you about the facility itself. The distribution was ok. All the workers/volunteers were extremely nice. There were a couple people (1 in particular) in the food wait line, that was not friendly. She would honk at people if they didn't move an inch and hollered at me when we were heading up to get in our lane to receive the food and jumped into my lane in front of me,messing up the drive thru. She was the 4th car in line,it wasn't like she was gonna miss out on the food. Needless to say, I'd like to go back again when they have another. The food was ok but on the news they said there would also be household items, which there wasn't. But thank you to the...
