I normally donât leave reviews, but I feel future students deserve honesty before investing their time and money here(LPN) . OMCC is extremely unorganized and lacks structure from start to finish.
Academics & Teaching: Most teachers do not actively teach, and classes are often chaotic. Students frequently argue and get loud during lessonsâsome days itâs only seconds away from physical fights or arguments . Itâs nearly impossible to focus or learn in such an unprofessional environment. There arenât enough seats in many classrooms, and instructors rarely seem engaged or prepared to teach.
Clinicals: Clinical experience is very limitedâyou only get two days per semester during your 3rd and 4th terms (just 4 total days in an entire year program!). Whether you get hands-on experience depends on whether the state board is present that day. This setup makes it extremely difficult to gain the practical nursing skills we need.
Materials & Supplies: The school charges students for books and uniforms through FAFSA but never provides them. Many students have to buy their own books from Amazon or eBay just to keep up. Some students have paid for materials included in tuition and never received anything. They also make you buy a $20 patch for clinicals . You also never receive a refund checkâeven though the school clearly charges for items that are not delivered. It honestly feels dishonest and misleading.
Organization & Paperwork: The administration constantly loses paperwork and then claims they never received it. Communication is terrible, deadlines change with little to no notice, and students are left trying to figure things out on their own.
Learning Resources: For a program that costs over $20,000 + per student (LPN) there are no labs, no computers(Bring your own) available for students, and even the Wi-Fi rarely works. The few mannequins available for practice are old, damaged, and barely usable. Most of us end up teaching ourselves using YouTube and TikTok because there are no real learning materials provided.
Scheduling & Leadership: You donât find out your next semesterâs schedule LITERALLY until the Friday before classes start because they struggle to find instructors who are available. Dr. Daisy should be ashamed of how this school is run and the lack of actual education being provided.
Graduation Experience: Graduation was just as unorganized. Tickets had the wrong time, the program listed the wrong date, and student names werenât even in order. The venue was overcrowdedâover 250 students with four guests each crammed into a small room at Sinclair. People were standing, babies were crying, and you couldnât even hear your name being called. Teachers werenât dressed professionally, and it was embarrassing, especially for families who traveled to celebrate. Youâd at least expect that for the amount of money and time we invest as students, the school would provide a decent, organized graduationâbut that was not the case.
Pros: Ms. Love, Dr. Richards, and Quiana are amazing instructors who genuinely care. They understand the challenges students face, show empathy, and go above and beyond to help despite all the chaos. â¤ď¸ Ms. Ladonna is also amazing and patient with studentsâher kindness, professionalism, and understanding truly stand out. Iâll always appreciate her for her compassion and support.
Overall: OMCC is extremely unorganized and mismanaged. Students pay far too much money for too little education, no hands-on experience, no materials, and no support. Future nurses deserve far better than what this...
Read moreDONâT DO IT. Very unprofessional unorganized. They always give incorrect info as far as starting school, will lose your paperwork and have you doing it all again. Schedules change outside of the times you agreed and signed up for. Daisy the owner only cares about money and passing people they donât care if they teach you material to be successful in your career. Daisy is referred to the lady with the mask but you never meet her. They steal students money from FASFA & tell you whatever you see on FASFA site is wrong. They donât provide the teachers with the materials they need to be successful. They tell you to get books then tell you you may not need them bc they are teaching from ATI. All they do is push ATI donât teach nothing. You have to pay to print you will only do clinical skills 1 time out of 4 quarters. This school is a joke and a waist of time yes it is fast paced but you should still be taught. Be prepared to be a teacher and student because youâre basically paying for space to teach yourself. They are rude get mad when you ask questions and they tell you what you want to hear to get you away. The lady LaDonna in the office is rude acts like she doesnât like her job and she needs an assistant bc she always messing up and has a lot going on. Daisy told one RN that she didnât need to complete all ATIs showing 80% but come to find out she did and couldnât graduate just bc didnât have 80% on a few ATIs after already passing that semester. Itâs all about money to make you pay to...
Read moreIf I could rate 0 stars, I would. I came here for phlebotomy and finished, Shonda was a great teacher, but this school as a whole is a mess. The Director of the program is all about a dollar and very careless in my opinion. The day we were supposed to get our sticks done, we were told to bring in food to offer to volunteers and they would provide the pizza. Well, the pizza never was delivered, no explanation, just was told that they got the days mixed up. No apology either! Also, on the last day were supposed to receive our certificates at a certain time, the director went to a class and made us wait until she was done instructing. The people who work in her office as well are very rude, they twist your questions around and have no type real answer! Would never recommend going here if you have to spend a lot of money and want a long term certificate or complete the RN program, youâll be in a work of irritation. Bottom line, scratch this school off your list if youâre looking to attend somewhere. Not worth the...
