Wiley's Trading Company — Attraction in Decatur

While the store, and it's targeted audience has changed a lot since I was a child, and it was Wiley's Outdoor Sports. They carry nice products, and brands. The problem I have is that the store is so crowded with product, that it isn't comfortable to navigate. There is little room to get around. While I am sure this isn't a problem for some people, it causes me to have issues, especially due to my claustrophobia. It's worth the visit if you are looking for the brands and products they offer, just be prepared if you have any social anxiety, or are claustrophobic. **Note: I am editing this review, and changing the star rating from a 3 to a 5, as I realize that the customer service, and offerings are well worth a 5 star review for the general customer base. So, while I admit that the selection of quality brands, and products, as well as the customer service all warrant a 5 star experience. The overcrowding can be overwhelming, and make it hard for some people to shop. I do thank the owners for such a quick reply, and concern for every customer experience. I remember visiting in the 80's, and while it has been about 6 years since I frequented the store, my review is not based on what they sell, just my personal anxieties. My husband and I were in town looking to purchase a pair of new sunglasses from Costa. We’d been everywhere around and mostly all the stores either didn’t assist us or didn’t have what I was looking for. We searched online and Wiley’s came up. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and directed to the sunglasses. A man opened the glass case to allow me to try on sunglasses. Today was our first time at Wiley’s and we will definitely be repeat customers! We are avid hikers and are so happy to find a local place to support. The quality of clothing and gear carried in the store is better than what’s offered at REI and at even better prices.
