Upsurge Decatur — Attraction in Decatur

I had my son’s birthday party here! It was awful, unorganized, overcrowded, and unruly! They asked for a list of kids coming so they could be prepared. I sent it but when we got there they had not prepared. They told me they had multiple parties checking in at the same time as mine but only had 2 young kids working the front lobby. There were so many people trying to check in and it was very unorganized. There were so many kids on the trampolines that the kids were on top of each other. There were young kids that were supposed to be working the trampoline part but they were sitting on there cell phones all in a group on one of the podium areas and wrestling with each other, jumping with each other on there backs .. etc! There was no one Monitoring what was going on or the areas with kids! There were 3 kids trying to start fights with other kids and no one watching or helping! There were so many kids Jumping I’m shocked one didn’t get hurt. The party was supposed to have a host but there was not one. I spent my entire time running back and forth asking for spoons, drinks, and cups! We had almost 30 kids there and was given 1 pitcher of and off brand of sprite maybe? After kids have jumped for 1 1/2 hours they are hot and sweaty! Knowing we had 30 kids, why was more than one pitcher not provided? It was not even enough to give all the kids a drink. I was given 10 spoons and a few cups! I had to ask for more spoons 2x and more cups 2x. I was given a hard time about needing cups but we were not supplied enough to cover the party to start with! The mens bathroom was out of order and the ladies was locked and to unlock it you had to go to the front and ask for a Key… that key was a nickel to unlock it. For the almost 600 I paid it was very disappointing, unorganized, and frustrating. This was a disaster and as a mom, I missed most of the party because I was running doing what I paid for a host to do. We will go back to Huntsville’s trampoline...

This was my first visit. The kids had fun and for the most part it was great. The time given for what you pay seems long enough. They use a color coded wrist band system to let you know when your hour of time is up. Theres a lot of variety with things to jump on and the different activity areas. From the foam cube pit to the wipe out area and the circular arm trap the kids always had a new area to check out.

The one thing that was not fun was that every square inch of the place is covered by video surveillance and "safety sue" who must be glued to the screen, continued to make regular announcements over the PA system, announcing the apparent and in my opinion, potentially unnecessary rules. Things like, no one can play in the Wipeout area if no staff are over there. Or if a kid can't jump over the foam arm, they aren't allowed to be in that activity area. It was annoying and distracted from the fun, and I had to wonder, why aren't there always staff over in each area all the time if thats the case? There were enough staffers to do so.

The other thing to be aware of is that they sell snacks and drinks at the front counter. Mostly candy and soda pop with no real healthy options . None of this can be taken out into the arena, and the prices are heavily marked up. Think movie theater prices. We opted not to buy candy here and got it from a gas station convenience store less than a mile away for much less.

Overall it was a good experience and a great way for kids to burn off some...

My daughter had her party here. The manager here was very unprofessional. When I tried to talk to her about the issues I had, she never apologized and she just wanted to argue about it. I continuously said I just wanted her to be aware of how I felt and she was just plain rude. I just I paid a good amount of money for a party 3pm-5pm and online it stated that cups, drinks, plates, etc. would be provided. They told me they were low on cups so I needed to write all the kids name on the cups because we wouldn’t get extras. Which I wouldn’t have minded bringing my own cups, but it stated that everything was provided. Our party had 36 jumpers and that’s all the cups they would give, no extras. Not once did anyone check in the party room to see if we needed anything. I was running back and forth the entire time. It was not enjoyable for us at all. Someone had spilled a drink and my sister asked a worker for the mop to clean it up and she just pointed to where it was! Wouldn’t even take the time to actually show her where it was. It was chaos and unorganized. When it was 4:50 a worker came in to tell me it’s time to clean up. We knew what time it was, and we were all ready to leave anyway. It was awful. I highly highly recommend taking your business somewhere else. I wish I would have read all the reviews before I paid $800 for me to do...
