Krystal — Restaurant in Decatur

I know Krystals is going bankrupt and the employees here just seemed to give up as well. They all seemed as though they were waiting their turn on the firing line. Not much of a good customer experience.

First, the lobby was filled with homeless, which is fine. However, the fact that half the crew was outside smoking was a cause for concern.

There was no soda and the sweet tea was anything but.

The front registers were turned off, requiring me to give them my card to run it at the back cash register was a concerning matter from a ID Theft perspective.

Order 10... Got about 6, but luckily the manager caught it and talked to the lady in the back who acted as though I was an imposition.

The burgers had been sitting under a heat lamps because the bun tops were crunchy on one side. Almost like they made a bunch and let them sit.

Fries were cold. Probably the same issue as above.

Not sure how long that was all sitting out because I am writing this about an hour after the fact and I dont feel all that great.

Upon leaving, one of the cooks came out of the back and it appears he may not have seen the business end of a shower for a few days. Thats another concern.

The entire place looks run down, like it is minutes away from closing. Signs in the back saying various equipment isnt working.... Registers arent working... Soda machine not working... CO2 ran out... Fridge in back not working... Grimey and beat up looking on the inside... It is as if senior management took a month or 3 off and let the entire place just fall apart.

Its sad because Krystal was a brand I grew up with and my father and I would go hang out there from time to time... But after this... I think I will take my son elsewhere for our father-son bonding outings... Maybe White Castle?

As I was leaving, even more of the crew came outside to smoke and talk in front of the building. Must be more of a social club than a business.

If the rest of the stores are ran in this manner, I can see why the brand is...

First I waited in line for at least 10 minutes to get my first order. It was a very simple order. All it was was two Krystal Chicks with small fries and a water. It took forever for the customers in front of me to get checked out. And it didn't seem like their order was very big. When I finally got up to the window she had to ask me again what my order was. After she asked me she asked if I wanted some ketchup and then I took off because I had some errands to run. When I got back in the car I noticed there were no fries in there like I had ordered. I headed back to the Krystal with my receipt and the bag in hand and asked for a refund. I waited for another 10 minutes before I could even ask for one. (There was a guy behind me that left because it was taking too long! I guess he was smart by not ordering from this place in the first place.) Then, she told me I would have to come into the store and wait for her manager to get back. He was somewhere across the street or something. She said she could not offer refunds. I told her I did not really want the french fries and I had to get back to work myself. The end result was no refund, but a sheet of coupons. Think twice about going here. Especially if you don't want to waste your time. This was poor customer service but I think the fault really lies with the...

I ordered 3 junkyard fries, and 12 cheese Krystal's. They set my to go bag in front of me, and the cashier realized they had given me junkyard tots. No harm, no foul. He gave me my junkyard fries and I went back to my work. I opened the Krystal bag, and there were 12 plain Krystal's in the bag. No cheese, no pickle, no onion or mustard, just meat and bread. I called the store and told them I was coming back, they said bring the receipt and the food and it will be corrected. I went back to the store and the shift manager was rude. She asked if I ordered 12 cheese but meant to get 12 plain, I said no, she asked me if that was my only problem, I told her I wanted fresh junkyard fries as well since these were cold by the time I got back to Krystal. She huffed and went to the back of the store. She worked on my junkyard fries and another lady in the back worked on getting my 12 cheese Krystal's ready. When it was finished, she handed me the bag and walked away, no apology or verifying that everything was right this time.

Overall this was not my worst fast food experience, but her attitude and the inaccuracy of their workers...
