Mi Mexico Taqueria — Restaurant in Decatur

We FINALLY found a Mexican restaurant that has REAL Mexican food!! No trash vegetables in their rice, real heat in their sauces and the most delicious, tender and flavorful meats in BIG portions!! The flavor was jam packed with authentic Mexican cuisine flavors. The service was awesome and I wish I had found this place sooner! If you’ve ever tasted authentic Mexican food in other states on the Southern West coast, along the Northern Eastern Coast, Florida and Mexico and you’re sick of ordering that type of food around Northern Alabama because it’s never the same and you’re just trying to talk yourself into liking it and not being disappointed…then you’ve gotta try this place!! The price was more than reasonable and we were pleasantly surprised how much our bill was after all the food we ordered. What an incredible meal! Seriously the best quesobirria tacos I've ever had. Succulent lamb!

Also shout out to the service here. Several taquerias in town that do a great job with food, but I think there is hesitation to go from non Hispanic customers who aren't comfortable with a Spanish menu, or not knowing what to order.

This restaurant breaks down that barrier by offering an English menu, and overly friendly service by breaking down menu items and making recommendations for guests who may only be familiar with Tex Mex.

If you want authentic Mexican food then come here. The food is soooo good, but there is a language barrier, so you may want to brush up on your Spanish before eating here.
