Mostly a historic preservation and now also memorial to Major General Anthony Wayne from the American Revolutionary War. It’s pretty cool if you love history like I do, but it’s not much of a walk for exercise sake. Beautiful views of the great Maumee River though! The Defiance Public Library is right there along the pathway along the river and they offer lots of free stuff to do during the summer.

It’s a very small but pleasant park. There are several placards explaining the history of the old fort. Some of the history is a bit unsavory as it involves violence against Native Americans. There’s plenty of parking at the library.

Piece of Ohio & National history that's easily missed if you don't know it's there. But once you find the location, there will be plenty of historical markers with details about the history of the fort.
