The Rumor Mill Cafe — Restaurant in Defiance Township

I haven't been in the city for years so the revamp from Tom's Donuts to Rumor Mill is very noticeable for me. I enjoyed to old Superior coffee but the current coffee is just as good and still literally fresh ground per pot. First thing you notice is a carpeted dining room but it works. From the very clean kitchen (a rarity for a small kitchen) came my 3 eggs, home fries, ham and toast. Along with my coffee my bill came to just over 12 bucks. About $2.00 less than the same breakfast I order other places. I saw they had full biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs at $4.99 which I see at similar small restaurants at $7.99. You can also call ahead and pick up your meal from the drive...

I'm torn... Super homey feel, regulars don't even have to place drink orders, she just knows. Guys hanging out chatting, catching up, old couples and young families with kids. Would love to recommend everybody in Defiance or passing through stop and enjoy the good food, good prices, and great service, but I'd be afraid it would ruin some of the charm if the place got overwhelmed by people just looking to mind their own business...
