Lifted Salon and Spa — Attraction in Denver

I’ve been debating about leaving a review since so many people seemed really happy about their services. Which is why I tried this place! But every time I look at my hair now it makes me cry so I guess this is me processing. I hadn’t had my hair done since the beginning of the pandemic and was looking for a little shaping before I took my wedding photos. The day before my appointment they called and asked me if I could push back my appointment a few hours. Not a big deal, I’m only mentioning it because maybe the stylist was having a bad day and in hindsight I wish they’d cancelled altogether. When I get there the stylist barely speaks a full sentence to me. Just takes a glance at the reference photo and I guess didn’t hear me say I want to keep as much of the length as possible. Then doesn’t check in for what my hair needs are or what products I prefer. They just seemed put out as they washed and styled. Then most of my hair was cut behind my back without asking about the length. By the time I saw it my hair was styled and had gone from the middle of my back to barely shoulder length. I was stunned. I said thank you, it’s so light, looks nice. I couldn’t even look too long in the mirror. I paid, left, and cried all the way home in my car. Maybe to some people this sounds overly dramatic, but I had loved my long hair. Looking at it now, I wish I had left when I met the stylist and had a bad feeling or said something in the moment, but I didn’t want to make a scene. I guess I’m a coward and that’s on me. So to sum up: try this place, a lot of people like it! But don’t make my mistake and be too polite to trust your gut and get out if the situation calls for it. Came here because I’ve heard great things about this place . The girl I normally go to just had a baby and I was in desperate need of a cut . I book the appointment day of got a really nice stylist . Told him I wanted about an inch off . I just needed a trim and that I’m growing my hair out . Asked me if I wanted layers I told him I had some in there already . Just long layers and a bit of face framing . (Keep in mind I’m a man and don’t love a ton of layering .) The shampoo was amazing ! I’ll give that 5stars . He began the haircut . Finished and then said he will finish the cut dry . After blowdrying the haircut looked good didn’t think it needed much to finish . He countinued to textureixe my hair and probably took off another inch doing that . The face framing started to get really short . I didn’t say anything because at this point there’s nothing I could do but let him finish. Didn’t even show me the back . Didn’t see it until I got home . I basically got a womens cut . I have a bunch of layers short face framing and 2 inches shorter than expected . I will never cheat on my stylist again. I would have appreciated a more thurough consultant if he wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted . The haircut I had was pretty basic so I thought there’s no messing this up . But it happened . I love Three Cutters Sunnyside! Since moving to Denver, I have come to the salon at least five times to get my haircut (Haley Sample is amazing!), two times to get balayage color, two facials, and one massage. Every single service is carried out professionally and I always learn new methods for how to better take care of my hair and skin in a dry, urban environment like Denver. Something else that's really distinct about Three Cutters is that they don't accept tips- meaning they pay their employees fairly instead of relying on clients to supplement their salary with tips. The space itself has wonderful natural light, great refreshments, and the most welcoming employees who are experts in their field. I love that they use only Aveda products (free from animal testing) and there's a really peaceful energy you feel as soon as you walk in. I highly recommend Three Cutters to everyone!
