Adventure Explorations — Attraction in Derry Township

On April 3, 2021, my family of six had the most AMAZING time with Adventure Explorations wade fishing along Yellow Breeches Creek!

The highlights: After emailing an inquiry from their Website, I got a very quick detailed response back. In finalizing the details of our wade fishing, I had a great conversation with Ben, our guide, that helped in our planning (e.g., advice on what clothes to wear, answers to all our questions) and all along very clear communications. On the day of our wade fishing, we were greeted by Ben and Mike who were our guides. Both were terrific at explaining all about fly fishing (we were total newbies, 3 adults and 11 yo and 15 yo boys) and giving us tips and tricks on how to catch trout (rainbow and brown trout were in season the day we went). We caught 3 trout and helped to wheel in 2 more trout that our guides technically "caught" but let us wheel in so we could have that experience of catching one (trout were finicky that day). After our half day session, we opted for the steak/shrimp bonfire which was prepared by Cody who kept us great company and we learned even more about the other activities Adventure Explorations offers.

Other side notes: There was a very clean bathroom near where we fished. Grandmother (75 yo) didn't wade fish, but there was a lovely park with benches nearby so Grandma was able to watch us fish and be a part of the experience. They brought all of the equipment, waders (the rubber pants/shoes) and the poles and all of it was very new, in great shape! All we had to do was show...

Look no further than Adventure Explorations for any outdoor activity needs! I was recommended Cody and Adventure Explorations through the Allenberry resort where I was staying. Cody offers a plethora of activities and is such an incredible resource. He was generous with his time and gave tons of recommendations of things to do in the area. Then he offered up an extensive list of half and full day activities including hiking, biking, kayaking and more. In addition he can customize any experience to suit your needs. My boyfriend and I chose kayaking and it felt like white glove, 5 star, VIP service. Nothing to do just show up and Adventure Explorations handles all the rest. We ended up having the best most memorable morning with the entire river to ourselves and amazing photos ... all thanks to Cody who knew exactly at what time we had to get on the river for the best experience and packed his camera ! This excursion was one of the highlights of our trip! Highly recommend !...

In middle of this summer my family and I were more than ready to escape the many anxieties that 2020 brought on. We knew that we wanted to be together but stay far away from crowds. We wanted to dial it all down and reconnect with the outdoors and each other. A friend recommended we connect with Adventure Explorations and go on a trip that my teenage boys would appreciate as much as my husband and I did. From the first day kayaking on the river, we knew we were on an adventure that would make us forget the tragedy of COVID while safely social distancing and reconnecting with each other. It was a true adventure that pushed us to new limits. The next day fly fishing was the perfect antidote to recenter our minds and rest the muscles we pushed to the limit in the kayaks. I actually caught a fish!! I’ve never been in a more crystal clear river. It was so much more than we expected and it truly is hard to believe that it was less than 2 hours from our home.
