ALDI — Attraction in Doral

Customer service here is terrible. I’m not usually the type of person to put a bad review especially on a supermarket. But this was my last straw. Me and my family usually go to Aldi cause mostly you don’t have to pay taxes and it’s cheap. But yesterday my mom went to go buy some toiletries and some veggies. We use food stamps so we usually do 2 transactions. My mom went to ask for help but this worker spoke so rudely to her she froze in shock. She asked her if she could help her with the transaction since she was going to use our food stamps but the lady told her very rudely no that she needs to hurry up and pay with one card. My mom tried to explain that she uses food stamps but the lady didn’t even let her finish and yelled at her in front of other customers telling her to hurry up. My mom of course got a bit embarrassed so only paid for the toiletries and left the veggies behind. This is not the first time this has happened to my family members. Same thing happened to my sister and this has happened to my uncle twice already. The workers here are disrespectful and ungrateful and very unprofessional. As a Canadian tourist I was in shock with the prices at Publix and then a local recommended Aldi. I found this location to be super clean, well maintained, and prices were significantly lower (about 50% less) without sacrificing quality. This store is on the smaller side but does have all the basics you need and more. I was able to buy everything that I needed at a much better price than Publix. This location has plenty of parking and is conveniently located. The only issue I saw was that they had 6 cashiers but but when I was there only one person working at a cashier while the other employees were playing on their phones. A local said that was a cultural thing, that they are "slackers", and even though the line went from the beginning of the store to the very end they only had the one cashier open. A customer had to go and talk to one of the employees and finally they opened another cashier while 3 other employees were still sitting around playing on their phones. Aldi is a great alternative to buy quality @ very good prices, but @ Doral store the cashiers need to be more respectful and helpful. On April 14, 2021 two people ahead of me and I were making the line, waiting the only cashier in service, while 3 employees were "chatting" around the one in front of the cashier machine. Finally they finished and the line advance and suddenly I heard a lady employee yelling at me that I was making the line in the wrong area or lane. We 3 were the only ones making a line. As per the design of the store there is no area to make a formal line, but just in the food aisles, and sometimes is in the one that are the fridges others where are the items of the months or maybe both . You never know, but screaming at a costumer because she didn't like where we were is not the approach less the treatment that a costumer has to experience. You need to train your...
