VISIT BEFORE YOU BOOK!!!
I am a certified sensual dance fitness instructor and I rent spaces such as the SAS Dance studio weekly for the past 2 yrs.
The website shows edited/filtered pictures of the dance space. Also, make sure you FEEL the A/C is working. They will happily take your money knowing what you plan to use the dance pace for, during 94 degree weather, with no working A/C and NO DISCLOSURE about the A/C until you arrive (and of course it's too late for the refund).
PROS: W/Midton Location, Room Size, (some) Staff, parking
The evening staff is often really pleasant and the young man that works Saturday afternoons tries his very best to be accommodating. The room size is great. HOWEVER, it is NOT entirely usable. Read below...
CONS: Facility, PRICE, Lack of Privacy, dangerous flooring, no Bluetooth, no A/C
-They falsely advertise as $35/hr for the dance space. Yet when you call to book you get the real story (weekdays until a certain time are $35/hr for a TWO hour minimum. Weekends are $60/hr and $90 for Two Hours). No discounts for booking bulk hours in advance or monthly until you've "proven yourself o be a regular after 6 months."
There are so many pricing structures the staff can barely keep it straight.
Book CORE Dance or a Yoga studio and you'll see the professionalism and incentive to book there instead.
If the space was properly maintained and up to date (flooring, lighting, Bluetooth system) they might be able to justify their stance on pricing. Location alone does not even come close to being enough.
-The FLOORS are dangerous and UNACCEPTABLE. There are hardwood planks popping up all over the place, GAPS in the flooring large enough for a heel to get stuck in (think walking on grass in 4 inch heels). I have left with bruises on my body and my dance heels! And so have my clients.
-The ceilings are unfinished with wires hanging out and exposed recessed lighting.
-The lighting is only florescent which makes it terrible for setting a mood,
There are doors to enclose the space however you can see through them and there is no privacy as it faces a recording studio and photography space
The restroom is never stocked with enough tissue or soap and has ad has never had any paper towels for hand drying.
All in all, if you are in a Jam another space cancels on you and you have a sold-out class and cannot reschedule it, book here and beware. Otherwise, please heed the above and visit...
Read moreMy first experience at the Buford Hwy location was decent enough for me to try booking again, but my second booking with them was dissatisfying to say the least. The manager was very rude and antsy. If you are considering using the larger dance space, DONT. It is not well developed and not really ideal for dancing. The floor is concrete which is terrible for dancers, and there is white dust all over the floor. The sound system is terrible. The manager confronted me because I turned up the volume for the speakers simply because it was too low & she proceeded to argue with me about the speaker volume saying that they were “award winning speakers”. Every person in the class can vouch for me when I say that those speakers were of terrible quality and not loud enough for a dance class with almost 30 dancers. She also interrupted my class in the middle of recording and instead of letting us finish briefly, she aggressively told us that we couldn’t and then proceeded to ask if we could take a picture for her Instagram. She is very overbearing. Even when I called to book the space she was being very aggressive with the employee she happened to be training at the time, her presence in combination with the speakers and the studio floor just completely ruined the experience for me & I will not be booking with that particular...
Read moreCalled to reserve a room with this recording studio on a Wednesday for that same Saturday. While confirming my session, I was told by a receptionist that since I was a new client, I’d have to pay in person. I agreed to do so on the day of (as suggested) and the receptionist stated my appt was CONFIRMED. That Friday evening, the same receptionist called to tell me my slot had been booked. How? I then agreed to record with a diff engineer. The receptionist tells me she’ll call back with the available times.......but never does. Unprofessional, inconsiderate and HORRIBLE at communicating with one another.
How doesn’t the receptionist know the schedule? Why wasn’t it communicated to me that my slot wasn’t actually confirmed? What’s the point of accepting my reservation request? Why do you all seem to have an issue with answering the phone?
I’ve heard so many great things about this studio but never in my life will I attempt to book with them again. I traveled from out of state and had to find another studio last minute. I only gave them a star so I could post...
