I have natural hair..no chemicals. I needed a color and a friend suggested Ada. I am so glad I followed her advice. I first went to Ada for a color treatment. Usually, I color my hair dark brown. However, I was feeling as though it was time for a change and decided to go with highlights. Ada did an absolutely amazing job. She was thoughtful, considerate of my needs and wants, explained every step to me along the way, and used the most amazing products. My hair is gorgeous. So, buoyed by the experience, I went back a week later for a cut. Now, let me say I have had really bad experiences with hairstylists who claim they can cut a nice pixie cut, only to have my hair butchered. Since I am African-American with no ability to speak Spanish, and even though Ada speaks both Spanish and English, I took a friend with me who is fluent in Spanish just in case I needed to have some serious translation activity. Well, no need. Ada gave me the absolute BEST pixie cut I have ever had. In fact, I had to encourage her to cut it even shorter than she initially wanted to. My hair is stunning. This is an absolutely amazing salon. Ms. Ada is very experienced and she is very invested in making your hair look and feel the best it can be and most importantly healthy. She has a beautiful spirit and she loves caring for hair and she treats you with such dignity and respect. She teaches you how to care for your hair as well. I have natural African American hair. She gave me a Keratin treatment and it turned out beautiful. She does relaxers and so much more. I have very kinky mixed hair (mostly type 4c). The keratin treatment softened my curls. I can blow it out or leave it natural. It is so much easier to maintain. Ms. Ada is teaching me so much about the products to use for my hair type and my hair has such versatility. From the shampoo to the style, you are treated as if you are in a spa. Your scalp is massaged, the shampoo chair reclines, and so much more. They make sure you are relaxed, comfortable and cared for. If is a first class salon and spa with caring, beautiful people working there. I am over 50 and this is the best hair salon experience I have had and I have traveled and lived in many states. I made an appointment and was taken the next day as I had a function to attend. I did everything except ask for the cost of my was and blow dry. While I was in the shampoo chair I was told I would I would pay $115 and $125 if a flat iron was used. I told her to to just blow dry my hair, I didn’t need the flat iron as I didn’t want to pay $125. I wanted to get up and walk about but didn’t want to be uncouth. Although my hair is in its natural state, it’s very manageable. Ada seemed knowledgeable about hair. She did give me hair tips as she did my hair. She also gave me light refreshments. Ada used the flatiron. I didn’t think I would be charged as I already told her that I didn’t want to pay $125 for the service. I did need a trim. So I asked her for a trim. We were conversing about various topics. I didn’t ask her the cost. I don’t usually ask the price for my hair because I never pay more than $50 for a wash blow and trim. My total was $155 when i left for a hair style that I literally have paid $30 when I lived in Northern NJ. My trim was $30. I had to pay a $3 fee to pay with my debit card. My hair lasted for a week.
