AAA Jewelry & Diamond Exchange Inc — Attraction in Downers Grove

My husband and I have been married 30 years and for our anniversary his gift to me was to take my engagement solitaire and either replace it or rework it into a new design. It had been bent out of shape after getting caught in the refrigerator door several years ago and the gold band was wearing very thin, to the point of worry that it would break. A well-loved ring! Initially we tried a small, business, local jeweler but after several visits that grew in dissatisfaction, I decided to try someplace else. I'm a pretty retiring person, that is not is not demanding. My husband kept telling me not to just agree to something because I wanted to make other people happy. We find AAA Jewelry & Diamond Exchange via Yelp! online and we thought we'd give it a try. The name and location of their business is different from many an other jewelry store in the western suburbs but do not let that put you off. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted warmly into a clean and extensive showroom/shop front. After briefly explaining our needs, one of the sales folks said, "Let me get just the right person for what you are looking for!" He went to the back and introduced us to Lauren. He was correct! Lauren was a joy to work with for the entire process! She listened patiently, made notes, showed me what was on hand, talked about different types of bands and settings and was very enthusiastic and full of ideas. We ended up deciding that I would order a custom ring - a surprise that made me a little nervous but excited too. LONG story short, after several CADs, email conversations, and visits, I have the ring that I couldn't have imagined without Lauren's patience, suggestions, and communications. She did a fantastic job the entire process of explaining the pricing, strength of gold, creating a ring to fit next to my wedding band, finding just the right main stone, working with me to find a way to incorporate my original diamond, and so much more. If Lauren was unavailable she made sure there was someone else to help me who was familiar with the process. Other staff at the store would come over and assist her with a flashlight or bring out another similar stone to show me ideas, always supporting her. Just all around fabulous and friendly service. After we worked up to the final CAD, the next step was a wax mock-up of the ring which I was able to try on with the three major stones gently placed in it. After that the creation of the ring itself was quicker than anticipated. I LOVE MY RING! Thank you Lauren, to the team at AAA, the artists behind the CAD, wax mock-up, and the ring itself. You all made this a fun, exciting, and enjoyable process for me - which made this gift from my husband even more special and was a gift to him as well, since it made me so happy. This was so much more than just picking out a ring. This is a ring that reflects my personality, celebrates our marriage, and makes me excited to admire it in any light. I’ve worked with Jim to create my engagement ring and to this day he checks it, cleans it, and makes sure all stones are secure and sparkling . Just Want to thank Mario, Dave and the young lady who helped my father and I buy some 1 oz silver eagles. The young lady recognized our last name and knew that my grandmother used AAA exclusively. I informed her that she passed away last November at 91 years old. She gave her condolences. We left the store and were about to drive off when we were approached by another partner/owner (I'm so bad remembering names sorry) He also gave his condolences and had some very nice things to say about my grandmother. So Thank You for taking the time to express your symphony and condolences. This meant a lot to my dad and I. It also says a lot about the integrity of AAA Jewelry and Diamond....
