Los Burritos Tapatios — Restaurant in Downers Grove

The place is old, and the building could be updated and / or renovated. The interior is outdated and flat, with dull colors and lighting is harsh. The staff can be a bit lazy and a bit irritated to even have to be there or help a customer. However, food wise and flavors, it's one of the best Mexican restaurants, in my opinion. I live like 40mins away from them, and I still make sure to get it every couple of weeks. Their other location in naperville However is the completely different in the staff and store are better. However, the naperville location doesn't use the same recipes as the one in downers Grove. So foodwise to the naperville location it's food is subpar and isn't worth the time or money and the time I went there was rats around the back and front which were not scared of ppl and would even smell around cars and outside garbage cans for I'm assuming food. Stick to the downers...

Commonly referred to as just "Los", it's the hidden gem of downers grove. It's a common spot for high schoolers after football games or homecoming, and a great place to eat at lunch. Despite not having any alcohol, it's most popular times are around 10pm and later. Something I'd like to share is DO NOT BUY ANY CHIPS. Chips and guac could run you about 8$, and you get chips and salsa for free if sit down. All the chips are cooked in house as is the salsa and they are fantastic, but you shouldn't pay for something you don't need to. My family of 6 usually eats here for under 20$ and the food is fantastic. The most popular item is generally the burrito suizo but I generally get tacos or a cassadilla which fill me up and cost around 2$ and change each. If you're new to downers grove or just want a place to eat, this should be your first choice. I go here around 2-4...

After going here for years with great service. Today decided I will not return. After a long day with job an meeting up with my guy at grocery store. We decided to stop at 1 of of favorite spots since we moved an don't get as often. Was excited as I ordered my steak nachos an a couple extra things. Was way to tired to cook and this in past was comfort food to us. Get home lugging up grocery an making sure my nachos were safe. Sit at table after putting stuff away quickly to eat. Open to find NO STEAK!! We don't live in area so was not like I could run back! Called them to make them aware because didn't want someone else to go through if having same day. Was a language barrier an she didn't understand so was mute I guess. Not sure what happened to our favorite place but disappointed an not...
