I’m a regular here and I usually walk the trail two to three times which is around 3-4 miles every morning around 8-9am. I love this trail and how peaceful and serene it is, especially that it’s SHADED. But I must say as a woman it’s really important to be careful because it is too easy to be snatched up. The majority of the trails are surrounded by bush not to mention trail paths in the woods. Plenty times people have popped out of the woods while exiting the trail onto the cement path I was walking on and we’ve scared one another. I’d recommend walking with a partner if you’re a woman walking alone especially in the mornings, if you’re going around the same times. The playground was well-kept and engaging. She loved it. The other people there seemed like mostly locals and everyone was very friendly, so it was good for her to get to interact with other kids. The thing I liked most about the playground was how well-shaded it was, surrounded by big live oaks. Not dark by any means; it was just nice that we weren’t out in the direct sunlight. All of the other amenities looked nice and well-kept too, especially the tennis courts, although we only passed through. Over all, the park had a friendly, approachable vibe. While not a very large park, it does offer many opportunities for activities and picnicing.
You can jog around the park on a paved trail, play basketball, play tennis, and the kids can enjoy a play area too.
They have a couple of pavilions that are covered and have picnic tables to have lubch, but they could be reserved for larger parties too.
They also have picnic tables out in the open, which would be much better if they planted trees o to offer some shade from the brutal FL summer sun.
