This park is really great at certain times of the year. In the early spring and winter, it is far too muddy. Mornings in the summer are awesome. It feels like an easy mountain trail walk with your dog. I have included pics of this kind of experience at this park. I really love that kind of thing and am grateful it's offered in the community.
Other reviewers have mentioned things like lack of grass, thorny weeds, and "nothing down below." The park is clearly under-maintained. It does appear as if its vision was never realized because money was "needed" elsewhere. And that's really sad, I think it could be amazing if its vision were realized. As far as the multiple complaints of lack of grass, I don't understand this one. As dog owners who take their dogs to dog parks, we should not expect nice fields of well-kept lawns to be there. Period. Please don't expect cities to pay for sod to grass up these parks. That would be a gigantic waste of money. In fact, I have been to quite a few dog parks in the valley, and this dog park has the nicest grass in their grass area. Ha ha.
As for "down below," there is one table with a covering and probably 3 garbage cans and two poo bag stations. It's sufficient to me. It does drag sometimes that the water for drinking is so far from this area, but it's not a bad walk up to the top at all. This part of the park really should be left to the bigger dogs. The little ones could get really injured by the rocks, hills, and giant...
Read moreGreat new spot for a dog park. A lot of the park is a gravel trail to walk around with a lot of dirt for the dogs to run on. The whole park covers about 3 acres to the northwest of the baseball diamonds. There is a sign at the entrance of the parking lot pointing toward the dog park. Right near the entrance inside, there is a water fountain for the dogs and a nice grass area. It's a decent size patch of grass with a nice picnic table and mini gazebo. 1 other gazebo down within the park. If you've been to the other Draper park, you've seen the new agility style obstacles. They are the same exact ones at this park. Overall, great place to let the dogs around, new dog parks are...
Read moreThe lower part of this park is dry and not maintained. There are thorn bushes and Russian Olives with long sharp thorns and weeds everywhere. Doesn't fail that I'm pulling something out of my dogs paws when going here. Fingers crossed I don't end up pulling out a tic. There's no water down below. So plan to carry water for your pups so they can stay hydrated. The paths are black gravel which burns my dogs paws so they're forced to walk in the weeds and thorns. I gave it a second star only because the upper part of the park has a grassy area that's fenced, has a place for people to sit that's shaded and there's access to water for your pooch. Stay up above for your...
