Neat little hang out place. Something we hadn’t experienced before. Everything is self serve and paid by the tenth of an ounce more or less. The rub down is, you give them your card to charge, and they give you a proximity bracelet (or 2+ depending on your party size and who’s paying). Every drink they currently offer, is on wall in a line of wall taps. You choose your flavor, and present your bracelet to that tap, and it grants permission to pour. It meters your pour down to the tenth of an oz or so. Every drink has its own independent price so it charges accordingly. Not sure if you’ll like something? No problem, just pour a small sip out and try it. If you like it, pour more. If you want to try something else, move on down the line trying others. Once you leave for the evening, your proximity bracelet will have everything tallied up front for your bill. No more buying a drink for $6 that you don’t like. You can be here all night drinking nothing but samples after samples if that’s your gig. And when I say sample, they are paid samples, not a freebie. I’m just saying you can try little amounts of 20 different kinds if you want. Find one you like, you can stick with it.
Staff is friendly and helpful. They also rotate a lot of glassware from what people use and from what has been washed to set out. We found this to be a pretty cool way of handling things. No waitstaff, so your get up and pour your own, but also no obligatory feeling to tip for every drink as well. You can still tip at the end if you’d like. This kind of place and it’s service style may not be for every ton, but we found it quite pleasant, as we could drink at our own pace, without feeling like waitstaff had to keep asking how we were doing. It’s a very load back atmosphere, and one we enjoyed, and we really aren’t bar people...
Read moreLove it..just happened to stop in here to kill some time before an adjacent restaurant opened. Totally sweet and new experience. It is all a self pour experience that is all electronically based ....you get a small key fob that you place on the outside of the tablet and the tap of your choice. Begin to pour and it is measures the amount you pour. With over 30 different taps to choose from you can either pour yourself a full glass or test them all....
Read moreI had low expectations of a tap house, since Duluth is full of great breweries and my experience with the "self pour" places has been lackluster. This location, however, was run by courteous and helpful staff. They had a great beer selection with some unique offerings that we couldn't find elsewhere. The atmosphere was great too - although some of the patrons brought in tons of kids and hogged tables (not the...
