Rainbow Springs Art, Inc — Attraction in Dunnellon

I'm a local artist who did this show previous year. I was invited to apply early which I did and paid the fee in the fall. We have a family emergency right now - my husbands mom overseas is very sick and he has to go there for three weeks in March. I called the event organizers while they still had the application open (!!!) and asked for a refund of my fee given the emergency circumstances in which I cannot attend this show, and they refused to reimburse my fee even partially. I'm disgusted how these people take advantage of low income local artists! Their application is still open, so they will charge double for my spot without returning my fee, and will keep my money that we desperately need in this situation. And yes, they mention about non-refundable fee somewhere on the application buried among many things they listed - I didn't notice that, so they blamed it all on me while talking on the phone. Artists, please be warned before applying...

I am warning anyone that wants to teach at this establishment.

The women that run this gallery are theives. Every time it came to getting paid, there was always some excuse that landed blame on me.

They would send me emails of all credit card payments then, when I sent those receipts back as proof the students paid, I was told they didn't have those receipts. THEY SENT THEM TO ME! I GAVE THEM THE SCREENSHOTS!

I teach classes at other venues and they proceeded to call those places trying to get me fired.

These women are unprofessional and are THEIVES.

I WAS WILLING TO NOT LEAVE A REVIEW AND JUST WALK AWAY BUT, AFTER 5 MONTHS, THEY ARE HARASSING ME VIA EMAIL AGAIN.

If you enjoy being in a small art building with the people that run it to be snooty, rude and treat you like you are beneath them by all means you'll feel right at home. I'm from st augustine fl, I've been going to art festivals and participating in shows for several years now. I have never had a person negatively judge me, my husband or my work. But thanks to this small art studio they did all three in less than 15 minutes. The town is great and very cute! The people here are so friendly and I'm so happy to call this my second home. Where these type people came from Idk. But I hope that will be my last experience dealing...
