AMC IMAX — Attraction in Durham

Absolutely ear splittingly loud (not in a good way).

Wanted to see Dune Part 2 in IMAX and this one had the laser 1:43 presentation so I went. It was first matinee showing so the lobby was basically empty.

Food and beverage are definitely subpar compared to any decent theater experience nowadays, but I was there for the IMAX.

Seats are worn and the faux leather is crumbling, but that's not a huge deal.

Visuals seemed fine but the volume was absolutely cranked up to an unacceptable level. I don't know who is monitoring the A/V setup but it legitimately felt like it would damage my hearing. I had to cover my ears during moments I knew were covering.

I see movies other places all the time so it's not a hearing issue. This place just has no consideration for the health of your ears or frankly the audio balance of the presentation. Most of the score is drowned out when you're basically clipping all the audio entering your...

I'm not sure what is going on with movie theaters lately but this one was filthy, popcorn littered the hallway, and there was one person behind the concession counter with a long line of customers waiting. Unbelievable, it's almost like the theater has stopped caring if people actually come back or not. At least they don't search bags at the ticket counter as they do at the Frank's Theater at Parkside...

The sound quality at AMC imax is significantly better than at regal IMAX. But the seats are not very comfortable for sitting longer than two hours.
