Sleep Number — Hotel in Durham

Christopher was a great person to work with. My fiancé and I just moved down to NC from NJ. We purchased a house and had no furniture (including bed). We’ve been sleeping on an air mattress for weeks. We were not in a rush to purchase a bed but Christopher made us feel extremely comfortable by providing his personal experience with Sleep Number which connected with how my fiancé and I were feeling. He walked us through the different options and allowed the opportunity to try them on our own and take our time to discuss our finances and decision. Chris did not make it feel like a sell rather than a partnership as he emphasizes that if anything is wrong, we should feel free to give him a call. Overall, this store was great, the staff was (by far) the best group of sales team members as they all seemed to be the managers. Usually go to to stores and they all seem to be associates.. not the case here. Great job with the staffing in this location as everyone compliments/support each other and a special thank you to Chris for being able to supply my fiancé and I with endless time of comfort and happiness. Store was absolutely spotless, sales staff were all kind and professional. However when it came to the financing part of our experience we were told not to apply as a couple which resulted in a low financing amount. Anyone who has gone here knows that these cost thousands of dollars, and the sales person suggested we cover the rest with our credit card. I don’t know what the ulterior motive was but our experience ended there. He told us that applying as a couple would somehow make things worse and we looked at each other both knowing this was not true. We went down the street to a different store and were encouraged to apply as a couple and were approved for three times the amount, FROM THE SAME LENDER. The salesman sure spoke to us with a lot more honesty and nowhere near as much fluff. Ended up with gel cooled memory foam which in my opinion is better than a glorified air...

I would like to compliment this store…and our sales person Charles in particular. The knowledge, attention to details, and overall professionalism I have experienced is rare in today’s retail environment. Charles has continued to follow up on extra items I needed for delivery of the mattress in a very timely and efficient manner. I highly recommend buying your Sleep Number product at this location at the South Park Mall.

As for the product itself, I have had nothing but great experiences with my current Sleep Number mattress. I did investigate for this purchase the other trendy foam and hybrid models and was about ready to purchase one. But then I tried the Sleep Number mattress and found it was again the most firm mattress with the best edge support I could find. And it actually cost less than what I was looking at with a foam mattress.
