Duke Park — Attraction in Durham

Awesome park! Big park area with TONS of open space, dozens of picnic tables, multiple playground areas for age groups. There are some puddle areas from poor rain drainage, abs overall it’s sad to see how awesome of a park and playground this place has…to be so OLD-LOOKING??! The playground IS awesome, but is in BAD NEED of a fresh coat of paint. Super cool three-story playground though! Four slides! Two three-story twisty tube slides! The spiral staircase design of this playground is very creative and neat. There’s also a fenced in dog park area as well, and a large gazebo shelter area. It was an overcast day today but this park was packed and the playground was FULL of kids! Picnics and birthday parties all over the place. Great park and playground for your little ones and family. Nice park right off the highway - this was great for us because we were on a road trip and just needed a place for my toddler to run and play a bit. It has bathrooms, shady areas, and a good variety of play structures for different ages. There is one set of toddler equipment in the full sun which is too hot to use in the summer. But the main play area has toddler sized equipment in the shade so that wasn't a problem for us. There are very steep, big slides for older kids that I'm sure they enjoy. It's a clean park overall. We love Duke Park. It’s a large playground but in the older side. It has two huge tube slides on the larger play structure, swings and other fun items. There’s a wood chuck flooring. There are bathrooms close by. There are picnics shelters and plenty of shaded grass areas. There is also a smaller play structure for smaller children within walking distance.
