The food is fantastic, but my trip today was disappointing. I do not know what the standard size of the sides is, but for getting a whole chicken to go this time I got barely a scoop of rice and a half full container of black beans. The flavor was fantastic, but it was much less food than I have gotten in the past; my side of maduros (reg side) was only 6 small pieces. Again, I do not know what standard is, but I have gotten twice or more that much rice and a full thing of beans every trip before now. Living out of town about twenty miles and getting this to surprise my wife made me upset when I had to make extra rice for my kid at home.
Update: The owner reached out to me, but I did not post a review for a free meal or anything like that so I went back on several occasions to see if the consistency improved. It did improve and meet our expectations. In the owner's response they mention how when you get them mixed you end up getting less, and my concerns were not about that issue, but instead separate sides. That stated, I have not seen a consistency issue since this visit, and I am glad they are making efforts to improve. The flavors have been excellent and I appreciate giving them...

Food was good...but it wasn't Hot, small portions, no flexibility. I simply asked for fried rice, they made a big issue saying that I could not get fried rice with black beans because the fried rice is a separate dish... Smh
All the other chicken places ive went to it was no issue .
I should've left out the moment, i walked in and smelled no chicken...
The tres leches cakes was dry and cold. Not creamy, soft or smooth. The flan was horrible as well.
I am from Baltimore and places like Chicken Ricos, Limas and pollo chicken is 100xs better than this place.
I will try mama noras next to see if they have good Peruvian food... If not, then I know its a north Carolina thing where they cant season the food proper like back home.
Customer service is a great, but the food was a huge let down. My chicken wasn't hot, very rubbery. Not delicious and hot.
The Yucca was great and even tho they didn't give me fried rice, the Plain white was good... But i had my heart set on fried rice/beans, plantain, hot chicken and delicious cake.
But my...
Read moreI used to go here all the time when it was Mami Nora's. I loved it! Now that it switched over to Alpaca, it just isn't the same. The quality and quanitity of the food has been on a gradual decline ever since it changed. I used to be able to share the 1/4 chicken plate plus an extra side with another person, not the 1/4 chicken plate is barely enough for me alone. I guess they have been buying smaller chickens. You used to get two big pieces of chicken on the 1/4 chicken plate, now there is only one. My usual sides, the yucca frites and the coleslaw were different too. The Yucca fries were somehow soggy on the outside, but crunchy on the inside. Should be the other way around. The slaw had obviously sat in the cooler too many days (yes, I said DAYS), as it was also soggy and swimming in a flavorless, watery mayo dressing. Even the famous yellow sauce wasn't the same. No flavor at all. I was willing to over look the bad location and lack of both parking and seating when the food was good, but now I see no...
