Nice big well-maintained park with picnic areas, playground, adult size swingset, restrooms, paved walking trails, a nice creek, lots of scenic views and interesting trees, and an extensive nature trail that goes through the woods, up to the top of a hill, then back down and along the creek. However, be warned that the nature trail that begins near the restrooms and starts off wide and well-maintained gets progressively more difficult and more rustic the longer you stay on it. I expected it to loop around to somewhere near the start point or the parking lot, instead it ended up going steeply downhill (I had to go down on my butt in a couple spots because I hadn't expected it to be that steep and slippery with few trees to grab, and hadn't brought a walking stick) and taking you alongside Valley Creek. At the point the trail hit the creek I checked GPS and saw that the trail had run well outside the bounds of the park as marked on the map. It was possible to get back to the park by following the creek in the appropriate direction, but the creek trail is quite overgrown and brambly, not easy to navigate till you get back within the bounds of the park. I hope that some better trail marking/ mapping is done because it's really a pretty...

The park is really expansive, with plenty of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. And the scenery is absolutely stunning, with views of rolling hills, lush forests, and babbling streams.
One thing that's really special about Valley Creek Park is the variety of activities available. Whether you're looking for a leisurely picnic, a challenging hike, or a fun game of disc golf, there's something for everyone.
The park is also really well-maintained, with clean restrooms and plenty of parking available. And the staff are all really friendly and helpful, making it easy to get the information you need about the trails and activities.
Another great thing about Valley Creek Park is the sense of seclusion. Despite being located in a populated area, the park feels like a true wilderness retreat. It's the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse...
Read moreTrails so good i got lost once behind the corporate center back near the nature conservancy on Church Rd. Dogs are welcome! Lots of picnicking areas, (with roof too, in case of rain). Nice playground. Spacious areas for many activities, including fishing. Also, multiple tennis courts. I wear water boots in the creek All the time...I'm sure there may be snakes, but in approx. 60 visits, I have never seen one! Not a one, and I get in the thick of the off trail hiking.
Clean bathrooms! Dawn to dusk. Edit: there are always snakes in the wild this area doesn't have an abundance of them, additionally they aren't venomous. More scared of you, than you are of them! These are water snakes, not a real threat. And I am in the water a whole lot, haven't seen any but snakes are part of the PA ecosystem, not often seen, I can't say Never active, aggressive or dangerous, but I will say it is a fact that 99.9% of the time they are just trying to get away from...
