I had such hope for this place. The atmosphere is amazing and all it had to do was serve some killer tacos and we would have made this our regular spot, but alas, the food fell short and the price is astronomical. I fear we will not be back.

We were sat on the patio, which we requested, the guy who sat us was great, he moved an umbrella to make sure we were in the shade, since it was the hottest part of the day we were thankful. We perused the menu.

Tacos come in packs of 2, 3, or 9. Huh? Why can’t we just order each taco that we want? And why does it go 2,3 then 9? Why is there no 4 pack? 2, 4, and 8 would make WAY more sense. Then we do the math, each taco is like $5-6!!!! Whaaat? No wonder it’s hidden under the multiple packs, that come with nothing by the way, no rice… or beans, or chips… did I mention you have to pay for chips?

So we decide to try the Brazilian Cheesy Bread (which was odd to see here but okay) and then the guacamole fries. The standout of the visit was the cheesy bread. The guacamole fries were cheap and definitely not worth the $12.50 price. That should have been way under $10.

We ordered two ranch waters and they came out without sparkling water, like they used still water, so they were bland. My husband asked on his second one for sparkling water and it still came out with flat water.

Then the tacos came. Uneventful. The steak was okay, but tough, and no sauces or possibility of sauces were provided. The Tinga tasted like cheap tomato sauce, and the Al Pastor was not like any Al Pastor that I have ever tasted. Everything was just bland. Forgetful. We added plantains as a side for $3. The plantains were great but please do not put sour cream and onions on them, that’s weird and it tasted weird.

Our server was fine, kind of strange. When my husband ordered our drinks she just went OKAY abruptly and walked away. It did appear she was covering a lot of tables so maybe she was in the weeds. She was fine.

Our bill came and it was $82. Whaaaat? We had two appetizers, shared a 3 count Taco, and I had one drink and my husband had two drinks. There is no planet in this world that should have been that much! $50 would have seemed fair since we had 3 drinks. But a ranch water is usually a pretty cheap cocktail which is why we ordered that.

This was my first and absolute last visit to this establishment. There is nothing aside from the atmosphere that was repeatable. The food needs work and the menu needs reworking, allow people to order tacos one at a time and adjust your prices, tacos should be $3-5, the higher price of course for the more expensive meats.

The value for what I spent just...

I've been to Bomba several times and kept meaning to write a review. Unfortunately the rating after my last experience is lower than prior experiences. When Bomba first opened, this place was a solid 5 out of 5 (amazing menu options, excellent service, great quality).

The menu options are still excellent. I hope the BLT taco becomes permanent. But I've seen the service and food quality go down. While dining here on Saturday night, we ordered 3 tacos, the bacon wrapped Jalapenos appetizer (or snack as listed on menu) and Vietnamese meatball bowl. The BLT taco was best of the 3 tacos. The Brussel sprout taco was my favorite in the past but the Brussel sprouts were very burnt and way overcooked (and this is coming from someone who likes food very crispy). The pork meatballs in the salad were overly firm and it was hard to eat them considering they never gave me a fork and I couldn't locate our server. I do like the option of the cauliflower rice instead of white rice and the Kale was delicious.

We were very happy with the cocktail menu and our selections other than asking for a cocktail straw and never getting one.

We were disappointed with the service. It was a Saturday night so I get that it's probably their busiest time. Our waitress was nice to start but then we never saw her again after she brought drinks. It was always a different employee usually a runner stopping by our table. Our entrees came before our appetizer. And the runners ran away from our table before I could even get the words out to ask again for missing silverware, straw, glass of water, etc.

I do love their menu. Being able to get several different types of tacos is fun and the uniqueness does set them apart from other restaurants. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped Jalapenos. I do plan to try Bomba again and hope that in the future I can up my review to a 4 or 5 like I felt in...

We were just there today for lunch. We started off with their chips and salsa. The chips were at least a day old, and the salsa could have been better. Buffalo cauliflower wings were ok not bad. My wife had three plant-based tacos because she's vegan. Unfortunately the result was that the tacos were both really greasy which broke down the soft tacos immediately. I had the Fiesta salad with cauliflower rice with carne asada. Good portion, and honestly had to take it with me. But the salad itself wasn't anything to write home about. It needed something that I am still looking at in my kitchen to add to it. That said, for all this and no alcohol, the bill was steep ($50). I get that COVID and the economy have pushed prices up; however, I worked in a restaurant for 10 years. So I understand some games restaurants use to keep costs down (i.e., today's special is tomorrow's quiche and the following day's soup de jour). That said, the little things keep customers coming back (regardless of the price within reason). I think the total meal time was 50 mins from sit down to check. It seemed rushed for a time when the lunch crowd was leaving. We took off this week and loved BOMBA when it first opened. Killer menu, multiple options, great takeout, and to-go margs that rocked. Now it the experience seems just blah, and frankly, and we'll wait and read the reviews before returning. A lot of little things that could make it so much better. I suggest soliciting customer feedback proactively vs. people like me writing a review. I hope it reverts back to the way it used to be or closer to it because as it stands right now, there are much...

ORIGINALLY 3 STARS: They’re short. I get it. Every place is short and we all understand. But I have to be honest here. The food was cold by the time it got to us. Cold. Not room temperature. Okay that’s cool. I don’t complain ever and I understand the staff shortages. But when I want to pay and tip you please don’t make it that hard. Trying to get anyones attention was too hard. Finally you took our money and we could leave. I wouldn’t go back. Maybe wait until they hire more people or ones that can cook. It’s tough right now but this place is struggling bad. UPDATE 11/20/21 WOW. The most amazing customer service I received from Tim prompted a second visit and they more than killed it. I thought the cops would show up for someone MURDERING the tacos. I tried four different ones and they were all amazing. The margaritas were FANTASTIC. I’m soooo thrilled I gave it another shot. The first visit just felt like they were missing a beat but had potential and tonight they showed why we should go out and spend money. Jessica was the most polite server and fun and engaging. Everything was great. I will absolutely be back and I’ll make sure I let my friends know too. They also have outlets with USB slots so they thought of everything.

This just opened conveniently across the street from our office (when traveling). We had a happy hour here and it was a pretty good place for one. There's a pretty big bar area that we hung out at. They have some food and drink happy hour specials that we took advantage of. They have $5 margaritas and mojitos, and I think it was $5 for certain snacks as well. For happy hour, we got guacamole, Brazilian Cheesy Bread, margaritas (orange hibiscus, charred pineapple, cucumber jalepeño), and a pomegranate ginger mojito. I enjoyed all the drinks. The Cucumber Jalepeño Margarita was my favorite (very spicy) followed by the Charred Pineapple Margarita. The guacamole and and Cheesy Bread were both delicious. We sat down for dinner after and got some tacos. My husband and I split 5 tacos—Vietnamese meatball, tuna poke, pork pastor, chorizo and potato, Brussels sprouts. The. Brussels Sprouts was my favorite followed by the Vietnamese meatball. All were pretty good. This is pretty similar to other Latin inspired TexMex places. I'm sure we'll be back since it's so close to our office.
