While I initially posted that this was" Great service and was happy to get my new phones here", three months ago. I am unfortunately now modifying my review.
When I originally went into the store and asked if the Buy One Get One Free Promotion would still apply if I added a new line, but transferred my old phone to my daughter (and my wife and I got the new phones), they said yes, that won't be a problem. They told us that the promotion credits wouldn't show up on my bill for several billing statements. I waited several billing statements, and still no credit. I then reached out to Verizon 3 additional times (hours of phone calls/text chats, etc!), and they eventually told me I needed to go back to the retailer to get this fixed, as the transaction wasn't set up properly in the first place.
I went back there today, and after consulting Verizon, the store called me back and told me that the promotion didn't apply unless the new number was associated with the new phone. This was the whole reason I went into the store, was to take advantage of this promotion and I asked this question when I bought the new phones, and they told me this would be fine, but were apparently wrong. All they could say today was sorry. I am sorry too that I ever went to this store in the first place.
After spending another one hour and 43 minutes on the phone with Verizon today, they apologized for the broken promise made by Russell Cellular, and they can't change the fact that the retailer didn't set up this transaction properly in the first place and they are crediting me $175 on my bill. This is still a lot less than the $700 I am paying for this other phone over a two year period due to the broken promise made by Russell Cellular.
Lesson learned is to go directly to the Verizon store and not an authorized retailer. The authorized retailers may not set up these transactions properly, clearly don't care if they do make a mistake, and they often have much more restrictive return policies than the Verizon store. Between arguing with Verizon and the independent retailer, I have spent nearly 8 hours on this ordeal and will never be going back to...
Read moreThree days ago I received an iPhone 15 pro as an upgrade that I ordered thru My Verizon app. Usually when I do this, it takes 15 mins to transfer it all from one iPhone to another. I waited 2 hours while it was stuck in updates, I called apple support, after 2 hours of talking with Apple support, it still wouldn’t transfer. So I gave up. Yesterday I tried again and this time it all went thru and transferred in 15 mins. However it also went into SOS mode and wouldn’t come out. After and hour and a half talking with Verizon, she managed to out both phones in SOS. So today I went into this store to see if they could help or help me return it. George spent over an hour with me, on the phone with Verizon and finally got it all worked out. He was so patient (the lady he was on the phone with at Verizon was clueless). Other customers were coming in and he was attentive to all of us. Thank you so much for...
Read moreI agree with Jaime Lee Johnson! I have been a Verizon customer for30+ years and Dan far exceeds today's norm when it comes to customer service. In a world where quality service is not just hard to find but down right almost extinct, there is still in fact great ethical standards at Verizon E. Windsor. He was so helpful in upgrading the phones for both my husband and I. He transferred all our data from old phones to new phones. He is awesome and could teach others how to provide excellent customer service! Hands down, the best Verizon location in the area. Will always be my home store. I have referred...
