The theater is in rough shape in terms of seating (old 1980's style seats), concessions (prices are way out of line....medium Coke and a medium popcorn ran me $12.50 while the ticket was only $10), restrooms are dingy with stalls and urinals that are out of service, carpeting is worn out, etc... That said, it is the closest and smallest theater to where I live for going to see foreign and Independent studio films which will never be shown at AMC, Carmike, Marcus, Regal, etc... The staff is pleasant and efficient and the ramp that is situated right behind the theater is free and so handy for access but there are peak times where it can be nearly impossible to find a space anywhere on the 5 levels of the ramp. Landmark's other two theaters, Uptown and Lagoon are both in better shape with modern amenities, but it can be far more difficult to navigate the Lyn-Lake traffic and the nearby lots and ramps are not free. I stopped going to either location because of the hassles associated with making it a night out with friends. I really wish Landmark would spend some decent money in remodeling and updating the Edina location as it surely needs it and would be welcomed by repeat...
Read moreWell I liked the seating , very comfortable , but with new renovations , there's less seating , unlike regular movie theater seating . The popcorn isn't anything to brag about. U can self serve the butter but it's only gonna be on top with the salt. I like you going to different theaters it's fun and different. But they really need more direction to which theater ur movie is playing . Shouldn't have to take the time when carrying all ur stuff to look at ticket to see if ur upstairs or downstairs . Hire one person to direct people. But as usual I always enjoy movies in a theater, but I will stick to my Woodbury theater, cheaper seats and cheaper food , they also let u do butter half way and salt. Plenty of leg room in that theater . Plus they have refillable buckets and tubs. All in all edina is a good movie theater . Parking is good , just use ramp. One more thing open lobby doors so people don't have to stand outside and freeze to death before movie starts a half hour would be nice . We all felt rushed to get tickets and food and find r seats and where the move was playing when u only open doors 15 minutes before movie...
Read moreold seats and old people that will not shut up. the theatre is quite run down at this point. rips in the screens, dingy gross carpet, the concession stand looks like it hasn't had a proper cleaning since the 90s. it's a shame they've let one of the only indie movie-houses in town go to pot like this. the popcorn is good, but again the concession stand looks disgusting. also one thing that happens 3 out of 5 times I see a movie here is there are many people in the audience who chatter throughout the film. It's really uncanny how often this happens. More often then not it's a group of people in their late 50's to 60's and older. I don't even understand why most of them are seeing these weird indie pictures. Seriously most of them gasp in horror at whatever Todd Solondz or Michael Haneke film is screening. Is it just the neighborhood theatre for them? I really don't know, but it would make sense that the retirees of Edina would feel that much entitlement they could just babble as if they were in their own...
