In from Indianapolis for the last week and I had a crew representing from coast to coast...NY to San Diego to Texas.
Had some wonderful BBQ right up the street at Old Southern BBQ and found it necessary to add to the palate with something sweet. Even though it was 5 below, we knew some ice cream would hit the spot.
We we're greeted by San, a super nice guy who kept up with our many requests for samples. The most challenging thing...deciding which flavor to choose. The Apple Pie with real fruit and crust was a 2 time winner from our SD and TX contingency. I on the other had to grab a scoop of Peanut Butter Cup and a scoop of Pistachio. Both were great with big chunks of peanut butter cup and full pistachios in a rich creamy ice cream.
The highlight, the waffle bowl was a good choice for some and I opted for the waffle cone. Either way it was one of the freshest waffle cones I've had in years... Which only confirmed what I knew walking in the door. Fresh made waffle cone aroma can't be mistake... light and crisp, sweet and delicious.
If you're in Edina, I'd definitely recommend you stop by the...
Read moreWent here late last night. My brother recently went to Malaysia and told us about the durian fruit. I was curious, so I had to try the owner’s ice cream. I liked it. It’s a complex flavor. It has a rotten egginess to its smell initially, but someone on the internet described it as “strange combination of whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, diced garlic, onions, cheese, and caramel all at once” and I would say that’s about right. Strangely intoxicating. I would definitely eat a pint, but we got some other flavors this time. This place was bomb! Their ice cream is all homemade and I’ve never had ice cream like this. I have permanent taste loss from Covid and these flavors punched through. Honestly mind blowing! We had five scoops between the two of us. And their waffle cone is sorcery how they get it so crispy and light. It’s more like a graham cracker with just the right crispy crunch. And the guy went to University of Oklahoma! ...
Read moreMy wife and I were just looking for a cute family owned ice cream around town because typically the vibes are better and so is the ice cream. That is 100% what we got when we came to Edina Creamery. We where helped by Emily who was just really fun and bubbly, she told us that her uncle makes the ice cream himself downstairs. I swear this ice cream was some of the creamiest and tastiest I think I've ever had! In the specialty ice creams that had mix in, they are not shy about how much they put in, you get a piece of everything in every bite! So my wife and I got a banana split to share with blueberry cheesecake ice cream, smores ice cream, and there peanutbutter cup ice cream, then grabbed a 2 scoop to go for a friend. It was so freaking good! Also it's not crazy expensive! So if you are looking for a family friendly place to cool down with good vibes, great customer service, and even better ice cream, you should check out...
