First of all I'm new to the Seattle area so everything is through those glasses. Edmonds seems to be a really nice residential area 20 minutes or so north of Seattle it appears to be a suburb. It's a base to one of the ferries across the sound and seems to have a lot of character.
The Edmonds Center for the Arts seems to be in the midst of a residential area but seems to welcome the facility and the people it brings.
I went to see Booker T of the famous Booker T & the mg's most famous for green onions back in 1962 and hip hugger a year or two later.
I've always really enjoyed the unique sound of Booker T and his organ. Booker T put on a really good show with his 10 piece band. I learned about his writing as he went through the night explaining songs I knew but I didn't know he wrote.
Since this is more of a review of the Edmonds Center for the Arts the experience was really great. A smaller Hall maybe seating 750 to a thousand people maybe. The Acoustics were really good. The staff was just fantastic. It was easy to get to the center and although the parking lot it was already full at the sellout concert the neighborhood seems to understand that would be parking on the street and there was no problems.
Yes they have beer wine and liquor sales and they allow you to bring drinks into...
Read moreThis is hand down the first time I’ve bought front row ballet tickets and regretted it. Row “A” should start where row “B” is or elevated seats. I’m 5’9 and had a hard time seeing the stage. My knees were about to touch the stage and it’s terrible with speakers right in the view. I felt bad for the kids that couldn’t see at all even with a booster. I would suggest if you go to buy tickets row “C” or upper so you can see properly. You couldn’t even see the ballet dancers feet. Isn’t that the point of the ballet? Everyone from row A left or chose open seats somewhere else.
We asked for a refund or to move seats. We were told by the lady at will call “we don’t do refunds” but you can see if there are seats open up top. We found a few but none together so we ended up leaving a few minutes into the performance.
Update: I called my credit card company and they kindly refunded me on behalf of the theater. Thanks Chase for...
Read moreWhen common sense doesn’t prevail. Went to the Nutcracker with my 5 year old daughter, or should I say tried to go. While the rest of Washington has a vaccine mandate for 12 and older, Edmonds Center of the Arts has mandated EVERYONE who enters be vaccinated, or have a professional negative test, the same one would get when traveling abroad…for a local theater! We are not anything close to anti-vacation, in fact my wife and I got them asap, but turning away children as young as 6 months is ridiculous. Not even the real professional performance and Mccaw Hall has this requirement, and that’s in Seattle with way more attendees!
We saw parents with kids crying being turned away left and right. Obviously their so called communication with the requirement has been awful. Management has lost their minds implementing this rule. They should be ashamed, and I highly recommend any other theater over this one…and I...
