The Market is a must try!
We came on a sunny, Monday afternoon! The outdoor seating was fantastic and respectful of COVID-19 guidelines. The service was insanely fast and we got our food in less than 10 mins of ordering it!
We got the highly “popular” Fish and Chips, the Maine Lobster Roll, and Crab in a Bag.
The Fish and Chips were made with a beautiful fresh piece of Rockfish; my favorite for fish and chips. The interior of the fish was cooked perfectly (extremely moist, flaky, and firm). However, I found the exterior to be slightly greasy and could have had a little bit more salt, but nonetheless still amazingly delicious. The fries were on point; perfectly salted, fried, and not greasy at all, some of the best fries I’ve had. The highlight was the tar tar sauce. It was THE BEST tar tar sauce I’ve ever had, I would definitely buy a bottle of it, and it paired perfectly well with the crispy rock fish. I could’ve cared less for the mushy peas. All in all, I could see why the Fish and Chips were a popular choice for people.
The Crab in a Bag was amazing! The soft shell crab was fried and seasoned to perfection! It was salty, slightly spicy, slightly smoky, and peppery. I found it to have a slight greasiness and padded a little bit of the grease off with my napkin, but that did not deter me from it. I would definitely recommend this!
The Maine-style Lobster roll was indulgent. I’m pretty sure there was more than one lobster on my roll! The lobster was extremely succulent and had the subtle sweetness as expected from fresh lobster meat. It was lightly seasoned to not over power the inherent flavors of the lobster, which let the lobster be the star. The bread was the perfect companion for the star; perfectly toasted and the outside and soft on the inside, nothing more I could’ve asked for.
Overall, reasonably priced for such amazing ingredients and insanely delicious food! I can’t wait to come back and try more things...
Read moreI really hate to give this place a bad review, we've been there many times and loved it. Until today. We used to be able to afford it, but things are different and it was a huge splurge. It was a nice day, we decided to spend the money and have an excellent meal outside. We ordered fish and chips and the apple endive salad with shrimp with three diet sodas, a splurge like I said. So my husband opted not to tip. I know that's a hot topic right now, but usually we do tip. Even though we feel tips are for people who come to the table and take our order, bring the food out and don't expect us to clean up our mess. But because it's so expected, we still tip, this was unusual for us. Before anyone thinks " those people need their tips to live on," they probably earn as much as me, before tips! And not being able to afford to tip doesn't mean we shouldn't go out to a nice meal. Well I wasn't impressed with the salad, but I know endive is pricy so I understood the price. But then as I was leaving, I saw someone had the same salad. But it looked much much better than mine! put together beautifully and much bigger with a cup of dressing on the side. I don't think there was dressing on mine and there definitely wasn't any mint. That's not OK, tip or not. So next time someone doesn't tip, understand that you don't know why. Don't assume everybody that eats there makes more than you and and decide to mess up their $70 dollar meal. A phlebotomist doesn't get a tip when they draw your blood. A grocer doesn't get a tip for ringing up your groceries, an Amazon employee doesn't get a tip for packing up you delivery. And all these jobs pay just a bit above minimum wage. And we get by, but every now and then we need to skip the tip, because we also need that money to live on. And I don't know when I will be able to make such a big splurge on a meal. So...
Read moreSo thankful to have found a dog friendly place with covered AND heated outdoor patio seating that opened at 11am. My friend and I searched for two weeks prior and were extremely disappointed that either places didn't open until 4 or we had to trek 40 minutes north of Everett. Glad that Edmonds wasn't too far for most of our friends who were joining us from every direction. The Market was the perfect place to experience Edmonds atmosphere at its PNW best, overcast, chill in the air and lots of doggies taking their hoomans for a walk. The service was friendly and the food was delish! We ended up getting a round of hot apple ciders for drinks which were perfect and warming, not only to our insides, but also to our cold hands. One of us ordered the lobster roll with fries, the other a dungeoness roll with fries while two of us ordered the poke bowl. The two that ordered rolls said they enjoyed it, which they must have cuz all that was left of their plates to share were the yummy fries. As for the poke bowls, as you can see in the picture, they were yummy to the palate as well as the eyes. And oh so much! We both couldn't even finish ours. We must've sat and visited for a few hours, but they always checked on us, told us to take our time and even took some of our plates. We were very pleased with every aspect...
