Con's: Waitress forgot to put our appetizers in, then later forgot to put our drinks in too. I asked to remove the green bell peppers from our order, but to keep the red and both were removed. I think the waitress needs to start writing things down so things aren't forgotten or put in wrong. The salsa served with the chips tastes too much like tomato sauce for my taste. People behind us had their whole table cleared after telling the staff not to clear their table while they were in the bathroom and had to get a whole new round of food put in. Tried to order a scratch margarita and was told by the server they can't do that. I had to order a skinny margarita which is made like a standard scratch margarita (real lime juice), but with out the orange liqueur and then order a separate shot of orange liqueur to add to it myself. I've never heard of a place that does margaritas and has drinks with fresh squeezed lime, but can't make a scratch margarita. We were there for over two hours and the service was so slow we only managed to get a second round of drinks in that two hours right before we left. Our server was sent to lunch and nobody was asked to cover us while she was on lunch as far as I can tell. We had to go inside and ask for someone after more than 30 minutes of waiting for a drink and nobody checking on us after ordering it. We didn't ask for it, but the waitress said she would comp the appetizers after our entre had been delivered and we reminded her about our appetizers that never came out (pro), but then she only took one of them off the bill (con).
Pro's: Has heaters and out side seating. Great guacamole and cheese dip. Good carne asada fajita.
We always walk by this place and it smells so good. Unfortunately, we will not go back again and I don't...
Read moreMy family and I recently attended for my birthday a couple days ago. It was just a group of 6. Myself and my husband, my mom and dad, and my grandparents. We were there on a Tuesday at around 4 PM and the entire hour we were there, it was super slow. Like maybe two other customers were present. My father was running late due to traffic, and we had 3 different waitresses and waiters come up to us and ask for our order despite saying multiple times we were waiting for someone. To the point where my mom asked if we should leave, so respectfully and sweetly. Then a waitress was asking my grandma for a drink at the same time my grandpa was asking for a refill on chips, and the waitress very rudely snapped at him and told him he needed to wait his turn because she was talking. My grandfather has almost passed away multiple times this year, and he has huge health issues and has suffered massive hearing loss. Our entire party couldn’t believe someone would just snap at someone elderly for literally just asking for a refill….it was sickening. My grandfather felt embarrassed and it was off putting, especially considering he had done nothing to deserve that. Just really sad because it was our first and last experience there. Kindness is always a better route than anger, and even the employees of a venue should be...
Read moreThe food: a supposedly hot bowl of shrimp and tomato soup with avocados arrived barely at room temperature in a huge stemmed glass with untrimmed celery stalks towering above its rim. The soup was a mysteriously bland mixture of thawed frozen shrimp in a canned tomato juice base with crudely chopped mystery ingredients: resulting in a slimy textured combination that I never want to taste again. Even the packaged saltine crackers served with it were stale. The margaritas were watery. My friend ordered chimichangas and was similarly disappointed.
The atmosphere: lots of TVs above the bar. The atmosphere was really noisy.
The cost: dinner for two with margaritas and tip came to $104.
I've been eating Mexican food since the 1950s; my family spent every Christmas and New Year in Mexico. Whatever Santa Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina served me, it had nothing to do with Mexican food. Sante Fe doesn't even provide a decent version of the familiar greasy beans and rice under cheese that passes for Mexican food in the US.
There may be reasons visit Santa Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina on Edmonds Main Street and 5th Ave, but the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere are not among them. I saw no reason to...
