Haven't had a lot of great experiences first time was with my (now deceased) dogs Colby and Snoopy. Snoopy of afraid of loud sounds and we were completely unprepared for the train that runs along side it. It scared her so bad she bore herself down between logs buried in the sand along the shore. We almost had to call fire dept to get her out. Took my new dog and the first visit went pretty well. The second visit ended up being a nightmare - my dog figured out how to sneak along the shore and passed the fence and crawl up the huge wet rock hill to the open parking lot. When he did that and I got back to where my backpack was (that had a jollyball that caused a fight that put 4 huge dogs on mine,. so it was put away and my laptop in it) it was nowhere in sight and looked up to see a dog in the water with the big red jollyball and you could the pack floating but sinking connected to it. Well dog parents got the dog back in with the ball but laptop went down and 5 hours later came to shore but was ruined.
My advice don't go there during busy hours as there are parents who are not keeping an eye on their dogs - learned from other dog parents that a couple bull mastiff owners bring them but they...

Unfortunately it's up near the beach and not next to the exit. There was a guy full on washing his dogs as I'm standing there patiently waiting. I mean come on it's obviously meant as a quick doggy rinse off not a self wash station. The park does provide plenty of doggy bags but still some owners apparently don't know how to use them! I guess you don't have to pick up if the poop is next to the fence...As I was leaving a little terrier followed me continually jumping up on me trying to get at the treats- I finally relented and gave him one. Unfortunately that didn't stop him. He then jumped up on me and bit my arm. The owners were making half hearted attempts to get him away. They could have just scooped him up! They didn't even apologize for their dog's behavior...sad, sad. Needless to say I won't...
Read moreThis off leash park is mostly a stretch of beach and is really enjoyed by larger water dogs. If you have a smaller dog, a dog who doesn’t like water, or a dog that is intimidated by larger dogs then this is probably not the place for them. The scenery is beautiful! You can sit on driftwood and watch the ferry and other ships come and go while you look west toward the Olympic Mountains. My dog is about 30 lbs and she is very social and friendly, she tries to play with all sizes of dogs but because most dogs at the park are occupied with playing fetch in the water she does tend to spend a lot of time by herself and can get a little bored. Somethings to keep in mind, parking is limited (especially in the evening). This is all sand and dirt, no open grassy areas. A very busy train track runs right along the park and is very loud when trains...
