I do recall this beach was quite a bit bigger when I was about 10 years old and went there for 4th of July. I couldn't figure out why it looks so much. Incredibly smaller. Well they took half the public beach and gave it to the dogs including the water. So now the public beach is much smaller. There's a great, big, huge grassy area. Why didn't they give that to the dogs? Why take away the public beach? That's a really big place and there was hardly any people there. I'm really disappointed that they would take that much space away from the public to give to the dogs. It's not like they don't have streets in everywhere else to walk. People walk their dogs up and down my block constantly and then to constantly listen to dogs barking at each other. Yeah that's not real fun. I love animals but that dog park is way too big. They took way too much public space for the people away to make that in that small of an area. So that's very disappointing. Unless you have a dog again, I love animals but that place is way too big. They took up way too much space for that and then they've got a great big huge green hill. Oh yeah in the parking. Oh my God forget about the parking. It's okay now but come June or May or what when it starts. Getting really nice. You won't be able to park but you...
Read moreI guess recently coming from the Northern California beaches has jaded me. We had miles of coastal shoreline to share with other dogs at Fort Funston. Here they designate a tiny patch of heaven, but there are too many dogs to properly spread out and keep a distance (if your dog just wants to play with their ball and not other dogs). It's strange because I grew up here and didn't notice how actually limiting it is. Moving to California for 17 years showed me that you can give dogs miles of beaches and still keep the ecosystem and marine life safe. People are more responsible there. We did not have poop issues. The majority of people were generally more respectful and in control of their dogs. I found at this tiny spot, some people just sat down or chatted with others and ignored their dogs. Those types of owners also don't have their dogs well trained, so they are rude to other dogs. So first experience back in the PNW with my two dogs and this supposedly amazing dog beach was disappointing to...
Read moreI've been going here for years, both to fish, walks and for the dog park. I had a run in with security. Guard followed me from the walk way all the way to outside the gates of the park where he proceeded to harass me. After asking him several times for him to leave me alone (and him agreeing and apologizing) he kept harassing me. Saying he was friends with everyone. When I asked him for his name so I could report him to his supervisor he immediately started shouting to his co worker to dial 911. He claimed I confronted him, threatened him, and would not let him out of his vehicle. He claimed I threw all my stuff down and aggressively approached him, nothing was thrown on the floor. Infact that was the most compelling evidence that this man was lying through his teeth the entire encounter. 5 police cruisers came and ultimately told me to have a great night. I work for a local non profit. There was no reason to be harassed. Why is this man working security? Why is he...
