First of all. Did all my research and booked the trip online. Received all instructions via email, process was very simple. I wanted to travel to the San Juan islands on a whale watch excursion, however I didn’t have the time to navigate the ferry system from Seattle. This was a good option for us as it helped us use our time in the PacNW area wisely.
We boarded around 2:30 pm from Edmonds harbor on were on our way. Vessel is very clean and speedy. Crew very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable on the ecosystem. I learned a lot about killer whales(orcas), their habitat, transients vs residents. I did not know the whales in the area are endangered.
Whales were shy, we so only two, however they crew tried to find them(kinda of like fishing, don’t catch them every trip). Orcas move fast and often and hard to keep up with.
Views and scenery are breath taking. We had a great day, weather was great. I would encourage you to go. The wife and I liked it and made great memories....

Nice Marinas. Beautiful bulkhead. Nice fishing pier. Although one might want to keep a good distance from it in a Boat, or the people will try to snag you with their lines, I'm talking a good 200' away too. While waiting for the boat we tooled around the harbor to get ice cream. Again nothing marked and nothing pulled up on google maps but knew it still had to be there, it was. Convenient little cafe with food and ice cream, although you'll need someone to wait at gate to let you back in or you'll have to walk allllll the way down to Port Office. Beautiful views of the Straights and all the water traffic. So many boats and ships. Close to food, bathroom, train, shopping, ferry, kids play...
Read moreIf you want the opportunity to play shower with a stranger roulette for about $100—Port of Edmonds is the place to get moorage.
The showers are singles and each requires a code to enter, which seems great at first. Once inside, there is a button to push that says it locks the door. In my experience the door did not lock/remain locked, and I had a guest. Fortunately, the guest was also looking for a solo experience and left. A locking option that shows the user the door is locked would be a great improvement.
Water pressure is absent, so keep that in mind when using soap. On the bright side, the showers don’t require quarters, so you can stand under the dribbling faucet as long as you want.
Guest moorage is higher priced than others in the Puget Sound. The facilities are maintained. There...
