If you're a parent of kids with special needs, read along! I work at a facility that serves kids with autism and we normally take our kids here to enjoy the go kart rides. Our kids cannot go to the rides by themselves so it is necessary that an adult go with them in the rides. We were told (over the phone) that the adults do not have to pay because they were just accompanying the kids. But when we got there, the elderly lady at the counter told us that everyone has to pay before getting in. The guy that's supposed to assist us was even rude and told one of us that it doesn't matter how many times you get in to ride with the child, you have to have a ticket. We ended up paying three times because we needed to accompany different kids just so they can enjoy the ride. As adults, we are not there to have fun. We are there for our kids to enjoy the ride. Obviously, going in three times with three different kids and having to pay three times is not fun. This place is all about taking your money regardless of the circumstances. I would understand if the adults need to ride a different go cart and it means that the overhead cost is different. But for God's sake, they are using the same kart! If you have special needs kids or you advocate for kids with special needs, avoid this place. go take your business somewhere else. For sure, the lady who insisted on taking our money would do just fine. Autism Speaks, African American Autism Community Network, everybody in the autism community, please...
Read moreSimple track, but very nice people, great price point (7 laps for 7 dollars, buy 10+ tickets at once and it's 6 dollars each) and they have double seated cars where kids as young as three can ride with parents. The kids get a fake steering wheel and, in our experience, have a wonderful time.
Really like the nice people running it, they try to make sure the kids have fun.
There's a small bathroom and 'party' room available as well, and shaded bleacher seats for those who want to just watch. I wouldn't recommend their party room for an actual party as it's very small, there's just enough room to store some presents or a cake, that's it, but everything else was fine.
Also, maybe not a big deal to everyone, but I really appreciated how clean the engines ran, you can stay a while and not feel like you're breathing fumes the whole time.
Great place for an hour of fun for a group or your kid without...
Read moreThis is such a great, old school Go Kart track. Nothing too fancy, and a good value for the money to give your kids some fun. Note that the tickets that used to be $7 are now $9, but that's inflation and of course gas prices have risen. Nothing the owners can do about it.
Before coming here for the first time a few years back, I drove my boys out to the Autobahn indoor go kart track near BWI, but it's far away and it's pricey, and the electric carts on an indoor track just don't give you the same thrill as gas-powered carts on an outdoor track. So we've not gone back there.
Every time we bring another of my boys' friends to this track, neither they nor their parents can believe they didn't already...
