Historic Leclaire Park, Edwardsville, IL My daughter and I occasionally get lunch and go there to enjoy our lunch and the beauty of the park, which includes a small lake with fountain in the middle and a raised gazebo where music groups have played. We got to see others enjoying the park as well: parents supervising their children on the playground, people walking their dog, a father and son fishing,( while other children were feeding the fish), children swinging, a boy struggling to do rollerblading who barely made it around the park, a gal dressed in winter hat and gloves and jogging suit running , friends bicycling, parents gently kicking a soccer ball to a toddler, an older gentleman walking around the park, ....so many observations and we were there for a little over an hour. The restrooms are located by the gazebo. Picnic tables are available close to the parking areas . I am told there is a movie about the history of the park at the Edwardsville...

My son and I visited LeClaire Park on 6/14/2022. It was a typical hot and humid Midwestern day. The sun was shining brightly with nary a cloud in the sky. A steady breeze was keeping the ripples dancing on the surface of the lake. The robins and sparrows were hopping about in search of food. Many fish were gliding around the shoreline. Turtles randomly popped their heads out of the water to fill their lungs before diving back to the deepest depths. Squirrels scurried about flicking their tails in alarm. The park itself is well maintained. Although the restrooms were locked.(Not happy!!!!!) There are several play areas for kids of all ages that includes swings, slides, merry-go-round, etc. All in all its a wonderful park for the...

It's a wonderful Park to go to we're from granite City and we go to the park over here in West granite by the fire department and every time we go we find syringes or syringes caps in the city won't do nothing about it so we plan to start going to the leclaire Park a lot more. And this is why I'm leaving West granite because when you wake up in the morning come outside your neighbors will vandalize your house and smash it if they get jealous that you got more than them in your yard that's why I say I have to go to Glen carbon and Edwardsville parks and stores, there are syringes in all the granite City Parks this is getting sad when you can't even have property in West granite City ,this is a daily occurrence of them smashing...

This was at one time one of the most beautiful and historic parks in the area. It had many mature trees, lots of ducks and wildlife that used the pond and lots of playground equipment for the kids to play on. The city cut down most of the mature old trees and turned the pond into a storm drain. They removed most of the playground, and ducks and geese don't even land in the pond anymore now that it's a storm sewer. Very sad :(
