This place is great. I never have had a problem TILL this past Christmas 2020. We went in our personal scooters since this was our only traveling method. Keep in mind we had to travel from memorial park to there. We fold our scooters and carry them around and Security was extremely rude and it felt personal. He didn't allow us to go inside despite of me being there before with my personal scooter already fold. No other security has ever told me this before but this one did. He didn't let us in despite us telling him that they were personal scooters that we couldn't simply leave them around and that they were foldable so you could carry them around. We wouldn't ride them or anything and keep in mind I do it often cause I go to campus just up the street and I stop there to study or have lunch at times. I don't believe his patrol has said anything to me either this past 2 years.

Despite people being inside riding their rental scooters he decided to Target us that weren't riding them, we were barely going inside the park for photos. Instead of actually doing his job and stop those who were riding inside the park.

The park is nice. Just watch your security you're contracting. Some can be extremely rude and verbal others are cool and have some...

Would be nice if they allowed performers to hang around the plaza on a regular, it would draw more locals and visitors to it. It makes a great place to take pictures, uninterrupted, as the place is deserted most of the time, its only regulars being the 2 crackheads that sully the place and avoid getting arrested for throwing things at visitors, even in the presence of EPPD. Who would rather check out the single moms and teenage girls that walk by for their quinceañera pictures. They need to hire more people to run the concession stand, took an hour to get a couple of drinks. They have a full menu displayed everywhere on the stand except for the window, where you need it. They make snacks too complicated for just one person to handle making in large quantities. If there is a long line and there is only 1 attendant, be courteous and do NOT order anything fancy, there are plenty of restaurants downtown that sell the same thing. Stick to getting a drink and some chips or something that doesn't require...

The WinterFest at San Jacinto Plaza in Downtown El Paso TX.

Just beautiful! No entry fee, come as you are, or dress up in your Sunday's best, either way, this is must see, if you are local. The downtown "Placita" lights up the square, with a majestic winter wonderland, including "snow" from the artificial snow maker. Live entertainment, and with a plethora of food & drink options. You can feel the energy in the air, and can't help yourself to get into that warm wonderful Christmas spirit.

Highly recommend it, you won't regret it. Other amenities, a small skating rink, and free El Paso Trolley rides, and everything decorated with lights & wonder. I believe I read somewhere that this, the El Paso WinterFest, ranked as one of the top Christmas activities in TX? Don't wait to long as it seems to attract more people with each day closer to...

Nice little park in downtown El Paso with a water feature with an Alligator statue at the center of it. The statue represents a time when live alligators had a enclosure with a pond, grass and and island habitat in the sixties and early seventies for a minute. The first alligators were a gift from either a governor or a mayor for a city from the state of Louisiana to the then El Paso Mayor. They lived in the park for a couple years till they were rerouted at the El Paso Zoo for their own safety. The have the park decorated with lights all year round. In December, they add additional lights and Christmas and winter decorations. Very pretty. I would love it if they had piped in music or musicians playing weekly in the park. A place to chill and hear some music as well while visiting the Downtown shopping and restaurants.

San Jacinto Plaza is a lovely place to come for a stroll, eat lunch, or just relax and people watch. Many cultural events are held here throughout the year and so this plaza sees a lot of foot traffic. I also like coming to San Jacinto to enjoy the beautiful architecture that surrounds most of the park. El Paso is seeing a renaissance of sorts, so it's really great to see the tranformation first-hand. You can grab a bite to eat at the San Jacinto cafe on the west side of the plaza, and you can bring your dogs out to enjoy a walk: there's a doggy fountain right next to the cafe. You'll definitely want to take photos of the 'Los Lagartos' sculpture in the center of the plaza. It's been an important fixture of the park for a very long time, and serves as a monument for the real alligators that used to live there.
