Well after reading all the reviews I got really excited to go check this park out. So I drove in on Schuster looking for this awesome park with running trails and Views and everything but what I got to was a small little dinky playground park and no notice of any kind of trails at all. Then I saw a sign that said lower park fields. So I checked that out and basically that's nothing but a glorified Annex for the El Paso High School baseball team which the public can't use it's all locked up. So I took a picture of the reservoir which basically is fenced in and cemented over so you can't even see the water. Contrast with an amazing Reservoir in Lafayette California which is where I used to live. Google Lafayette Reservoir you'll see what I'm talking about. So about to give up I thought I would drive all the way up the hill and around and I ended up on rim Road. Now Rim road is adjacent to a bunch of rich people's houses so of course that looks nice. Now there is a little bit of a sidewalk that is in tandem with Rim road on the Parkside so I guess people are thinking that's a running trail but that's not a running trail folks that's a damn sidewalk on the street. So before I finished seeing what I was seeing I finally caught up on the last part of the park which is basically a park at the corner of Rim Road and Saint Vrain Vrain. So I guess that's the park everybody's talking about as far as the lover leave and the views the park is really not much bigger than most people's backyard. It's manicured quite nicely and it does have some good views but it's a post that postage stamp-sized Park definitely not made for running or biking no grilling out no barbecues. I took 16 pictures and more so people could see what I'm talking about. Now if I'd seen my own review and all the pictures I never would have driven all the way over here to mess around at this so-called Park. Think of this park as a well-to-do neighbor with a nice large backyard that's about it. Now if you live in West El Paso there be no reason not to drive by and check it out but you won't be there much more than 10 or 15 minutes because there's nothing to see nothing to do and there's no...
Read moreWent by to check out the new dog park. Advance scout for a Great Dane Meetup that we'll be having tomorrow. It's very very nice as El Paso dog parks go, no shade as usual. But excellent fencing, excellent airlocks, water fountains for humans and dogs. Comfortable benches and grass. Set inside the park so if a dog should get loose, they won't be headed directly into a busy Street. Parking lot in between the dog park and the regular park. So convenient parking. Nice amenities at the park for families. Playground, large picnic pavilion. Very clean and nice Park. Hope it...
Read moreThis park is decent, much smaller than you woukd expect. But there is a way to walk down to the Tom Lea Lower park from it. There seems to be an issue with feral cats at the upper parks so be aware of that if you have dogs, as the cats pretty much are all over the laek, complete with signs saying not to feed the feral animals. The lower oark has a large jungle gum for kids, and is bigger. I enjoyed the walk from one to the other over all. It is a...
