I was highly recommended to check out Tippi Teas this week. I’m from dfw and have been searching for a little piece of home away from home. I was so excited when arriving but left so disappointed. When we arrived we were greeted with a quick hello. We looked around and then made our way to the rows of teas. There were two staff members working and only two other people in the shop one for a very short amount of time who had already ordered and quickly received her tea. There is only a description for teas that are already prepackaged ready to buy but there are so many more options then the few prepackaged by the registers. Some are clearly written what they are others teas are mixes. With no menu visible it’s up to the staff to explain what each tea mix contains and the purpose. They have a menu board for some of their other offerings. When we were looking one of the staff members was just staring seemed impatient and annoyed. We ordered a smoothie and coffee. When we asked if the milk that comes in the coffee was almond milk per allergies we received a very snarky reply of we only use almond milk here. It took both of us a back but I tried to quickly brush it off since I was so interested in the teas they had on display. When waiting I tried to ask about one tea, one of the staff members quickly explained asked if I wanted to smell it. After I did she quickly shut the lid and put it back then went back to the section that was not visible from the counter. When received our order then went to sit down. We both felt super uncomfortable and unwelcome the entire time we were there. Both staff members were chatting in the back not visible for majority of the time. They seemed more interested in their conversation then anything else that was happening in the shop. I really wanted to know more about the teas offered and tried researching on Facebook and their website to find any info. I tried going back throughout Facebook posts and only had luck with a couple tea mixes that were explained. By then I was just so disappointed and upset that the two staff members were so rude , unhelpful and unfriendly. I was literally there in the shop and received no help or answers to my questions that I finished my smoothie quickly and decided not to purchase anything else. I really wanted to get multiple items to bring home but I couldn’t shake the bad taste in my mouth from their treatment. This is such a unique and valuable place in El Paso unfortunately it is such a shame that the horrible customer service we received took that...
Read moreI had a horrifying and negligent experience at this restaurant, and as a first-time customer, I was shocked by how poorly they handled my food allergy. I clearly informed the barista about my nut allergy and asked if the matcha tea I wanted contained any nuts or nut-based ingredients. She assured me it didn’t. However, she never asked which milk options I wanted, which is a basic and common practice at any place when someone is preparing a drink. Instead, she just made the drink without any further questions or caution. After drinking the matcha, I began to have a severe allergic reaction—my mouth became itchy and sore, and I started struggling to breathe. My boyfriend took the drink back to the barista and asked if any nuts were used, and only then did she admit they had used almond milk. To make matters worse, she nonchalantly made an “o” shape with her mouth, as if she had simply forgotten about my allergy. They offered to call medical help, but we had to rush to the ER ourselves. They refunded only my matcha, not my boyfriend’s drink, even though both of us were affected by their complete lack of care and attention. This was my first visit, and I’m beyond disappointed by how dangerously irresponsible the staff was with something as serious as food allergies. People can die from reactions like mine, and yet this place treated it like a trivial mistake.I strongly advise anyone with allergies to avoid...
Read moreLove their product, but terrible service today. Walked in without a previous online order to an empty store (so appeared it would be quick) and my order was put in line with online orders, so it took 25 min for two açaí bowls. It’s a poor business choice to make customers who walk in to order wait “in line” with those that order online. This made me late for an appointment and I had to entertain my toddler in a parking lot while we waited. Should not be punished for not ordering online. I was also not warned of the wait until after I had ordered and paid. I most certainly would have left if I had been properly warned that it would take almost half an hour for my order since I had somewhere to be and had my toddler. I’m happy that they are busy during this crazy time, but more thought should go into managing orders, and possibly more staff as the two women in there were working very hard. I did not complain to them, as I could tell they were following business practices and...
