Been getting all of my elderly dads prescriptions here for over 7 years never had problems until the last two years. Tonight took the cake. I was in April 4 to get most of my dad's prescriptions one prescription they said it was ten days early and it would be ready the beginning of this week. Mind you this is not a controlled substance just a nebulizer solution for severe COPD. He needs this to breathe. He has been taking this medicine for over 10 years. He gets a 90 day supply and is supposed to take this medicine every 4-6 hours as needed with a minimum of twice a day. So technically he should have plenty still available if only taking it twice a day as he usually does. I go tonight to get it as he is completely out and the prescription was supposed to be ready the beginning of the week and it's not ready. Then they proceed to tell me it says it's 10 days to early. But they can see the last time it was filled was Jan and it should be ready. They state they need to contact Medicare to see what the issue is but can't until tomorrow morning because Medicare won't pay for it. I told them I will just pay for it because he needs it so he doesn't need to go to the emergency room if his breathing gets worse. The tech says I can't pay for it because Medicare won't let them. I tell them treat it like he don't have insurance and then she says it's Walgreens policy. I told them I need at least a days worth till they get this fixed. They won't even do that, then the tech tells me to bring him to the emergency room, I asked if they were going to pay for the emergency room visit. She didn't respond except to tell me if I don't leave the drive thru they will call the cops. I said fine call the cops I need his medicine. His prescription has 11 refills available until January 2025 so why can't they let me pay for it. Makes no sense. The cops were very nice and don't understand why they won't even give him a few days worth, also tell me they think it might just be the pharmacy as they have had 4-5 calls exactly like mine where the people have refills available and the pharmacy won't fill necessary medications. Don't know if the techs entered something wrong with Medicare or what the problem is but this is ridiculous, been having nothing but issues the last two years (short supply, closing early or not opening at all, and very long waits when prescriptions were supposed to be ready days ago) not to mention rude staff. Then to top it off after speaking with the police and they recommend switching pharmacies as they have also had issues getting prescriptions there the last few years, I look in the app and it says that prescription was filled today (wasn't before the police talked to all of us). What the hell, they finally fill it after they call the cops. I'm done, Walgreens Elk River is a joke, go somewhere else. I will be driving an extra 20-30 minutes to get prescriptions at CVS (because they are more convenient for me). Hope Walgreens realizes they just lost 15 expensive prescriptions a month because they...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews on the pharmacy, I can tell my experience is not surprising. Brooke, the “pharmacist” is pathetic. Very unprofessional and clearly CANNOT work under pressure. I stopped in to grab cough drops for a cough and sore throat. I am 37 weeks pregnant and wanted to make sure the ones I chose were ok to take. I stopped up at the pharmacy desk and asked staff if they knew if it was safe to take. They went to ask Brooke, who LOUDLY stated “she’s going to have to wait a little while” which I was fine with. A pharm tech attempted to look it up in the mean time and seen it was showing not safe to take. He went to update Brooke, who then again, LOUDLY & RUDELY, stated “she’s going to have to wait, if she doesn’t want to wait she can call her OB”. Clearly already attempted to call my OB and did not hear back so I stopped in to purchase some meds and ask the pharmacist, which obviously the small, simple question put her over the edge. Brooke eventually came to tell me it’s not safe to take, and I addressed her poor attitude, she attempted to raise her voice at me and deny that she was rude or had an attitude and told me they are short staffed. NOT MY PROBLEM, nor is that an excuse to be unprofessional, loud, and rude. Good thing she works for a small pharmacy and not in a hospital, she cannot hold up under pressure. Your poor staffing is not the customers fault. But when you want to bring out an attitude and take it out on the customer, that’s when we have a problem. Hopefully her supervisors can address her lack of patience and can give her some pointers to hold her composure a little better. She made a fool...
Read moreIt’s 8:43 pm on Friday night, I went into the store to buy first aid bandages for my husband, while I was there I shopped around for face cleanser, not knowing quite what I wanted.. I took my time reading ingredients and so forth. I suddenly felt this tension and stillness in the store. When I looked up and looked around I noticed a man standing at the register, calm but seemingly impatient.. OMG I WAS THE only customer in the store! A another worker was holding a register till in her hands and talking to the anxious, but patient man at the register.. it dawned on me.. and realized they were closing the store! .. how long had they been staring at me, wondering if I’d ever make up my mind? I turned and said “ “ oh gosh, im so sorry” I got no response, I repeated my apologies and still got no response! I checked out as fast as I could.. I felt like I inconvenienced them and that I was “ one of those customers” if I had know the store was closing early, I would have gone to wAlmart. I implore Walgreens to please abide by tbeir business hours? Why didn’t you say you were closing? 00closing times as they are posted. I shouldn’t have to spend my money as an inconvenient .
Nothing critical happened so we are good!
You weren’t mean or rude you were just.. nothing! Is...
