I needed help updating my laptop and called Mac Revival. I wanted help from a professional service as opposed to asking a friend. Mac Revival is located about 2+ hours from where I live and I asked if they would consider helping me with this over the phone/or video conference. From the very first call I was met with caring, upbeat courtesy and an understanding of my needs. I was glad when I heard they could help me over the phone. They told me how we would go about the update and sent me the required backup part I would need to complete it. With a second call a kind associate helped me use the backup part. The third call began with slow step by step instructions to install an updated os. I could tell that Tom was well versed in his work by the speed and ease of his instructions. By now I had formed a working trust in him and his company which was critical as I allowed him access to my laptop remotely. He shared my screen and he could direct it autonomously. We went through a sequence of many failed attempts to install the new program. My heart dropped at each failed attempt as my confidence in Tom grew. It was amazing to me how he quickly and calmly reacted and adapted to every turn in the sequence of events. We concluded that my laptop wasn’t going to update without an installer part. I was instructed calmly - with a smile I could hear through the phone on what we could do next. I was quickly sent the installer on loan and had a date set up for when we could complete the process. To make this a little shorter review I can say that the update was completed with success. And more than that; with my permission Tom added a few apps that blocked ads from sites I regularly use and some security apps. too. I was so relieved and happy at the completed process! I have a lot of faith in Mac Revival. Not only in their experience and competence; but in their calm and friendly manner throughout my dealings with them. I’m thankful that I found them. My laptop is working well and Chrome updates regularly on it’s own. I will remember my experience and call on them again when the need arises!...
Read moreI took my MacBook to Best Buy because it was not charging and I was unable to turn it on. I couldn’t speak to anyone from the team at that location to find out how the process works or even if it was covered by any type of whatever. I could only get a person not even in the state who couldn’t tell me anything but could only make an appointment for me to come in to the Bangor Best Buy. Woke up super early on a Sunday and drove 1.5 hours to Bangor only for them to tell me they would have to send it off and would let me know within 4 weeks. They didn’t even look at it. Brought it to Mac Revival. Talked to a local guy who explained what he thought was it. Took less then a week and the did it right there. So I always knew where my computer was. And for very likely a huge fraction of what it would have cost me through Best Buy. I felt like I was part of the process and my precious info on my computer was in safe a capable hands. Read moreI brought my MacBook Pro to MacRevival because I had lines going through my screen. When I got to the shop, the lady behind the counter was friendly and informative. She assured me someone would get to it right away (which they did) that they would be in contact regarding all aspects of the process (they were) and they would give me the best case scenario regarding my beloved laptop (they did). Unfortunately at some point I had spilled coffee near the port and that most likely led to the downfall of my machine. The gave me every situation from a new display board (maybe not the technical term), buying a used item with warranty or buying a completely new machine. They were honest and gave me answers I could understand. I am very thankful to have this shop in my area. I will definitely visit them again! (hopefully not for spilling...
