My husband and I enjoy taking our boys to this park. It's clean and it's right down the street from our home. I really like that there are so many things to do in this one park: playground, covered picnic tables, beach volleyball, fenced baseball diamond, basketball courts (only a few though😏) and a big grassy field. If the boys get bored with the playground and no one is playing volleyball, then we go dig and build castles in the sand😊 There are a few cons about this park however. One, it's right on busy Maryland Parkway, between Wigwam and Windmill. Just makes me nervous. Second, the playground is not fenced in, so again - makes me nervous. I will add that the playground is a good 100 yards from the busy street but there picnic tables right near the street. Last, the lighting at night for the playground area is really poor. If there is baseball game going on, then their lights illuminate the play area but if not, then it is fairly dark. I would definitely recommend this park despite the nighttime...
Read moreAnother great neighborhood park around town that has volleyball courts, basketball courts, multiple play areas, multiple picnic tables and pavilions and is still so peaceful with plenty of shade tree to sit under that line the perimeter of the park. There's a trail around the park as well for walkers, runners, skaters, etc but still plenty of room to spread out from others. The courts, play areas and pavilions are lit starting at dusk. There was a baseball game taking place the evening I was there and field was lit as well but I'm not sure if that's just the case when games or teams are practices or if the field is lit at dusk all the time like the other facilities in the park. With mountains views on one side of the park and on 2 sides of the neighborhood and a coffee shop cata-corner to the park (a 7/11 is being built across the street as well), this is a great park and great...
Read moreThe park is large and dog friendly. We went for a walk around 8 o’clock in the morning and noticed a lot of people walking their dogs as well. The baseball fields are closed off so no one can enter without maintenance opening it. They have doggy poo bags all around the park so if you forget yours don’t worry. The water fountains were not turned on or working so my pup had no water during the duration of our time there. One thing I wish the park had is a dog park. I believe more people would come to the park if there was a dog park and there is enough space to create one too. Overall this is a great park to come and walk your dog and bring...
