The first time my husband brought back food from Chicago's Best, I was blown away by the quality of flavor and presentation! I have little knowledge specifically which items were ordered; all I know is that they were delicious! The cheese sticks were HUGE and nothing short of FABULOUS! If this is the norm for Chicago style favorites, I must have been living in the wrong state all these years, at least until now! We were craving another return visit ever since the first taste! The coincidence of our poor timing in our attempts was not in our favor at first... and 2nd, and 3rd tries... however, 4th times a charm in this case! Lol! We were either showing up prior to opening, after closing hours, or on a holiday! What luck! But, on the flip side, it made the anticipation even more sought after once finally in reach! My husband called and placed the order, and our daughter and I picked it up on our way home after her rehearsal. The owner (at least that's my guess) was incredibly hospitable and welcoming! When met with such a generous and genuine demeanor, these days, especially, is a treat by itself! When you walk into a place for the 1st time, expectations aren't too high. Then you're immediately treated like family - an introduction like this is not only rare but feels great when it occurs! The Italian Ice is so good! It tastes real, like you're not consuming chemicals, like you're eating the iced version of the actual fruit, and it's beyond refreshing on a scorching Las Vegas summer afternoon... but, who am I kidding?! I'd even eat it during winter, lol! You understand my meaning, however... if you've gotten this far, you're smart enough to keep up 😉... Anyway, before I further digress into a rant about Mango Italian Iced ecstacy.... strawberry and lemon flavors too, side note... I'll just tell you... This family owned establishment is the place to go if you enjoy authentically home style prepared American staples, Chicago style, like a killer hot dog and real French fries made to perfection! TRUST ME! it's a winner, and I sincerely hope Chicago's Best is successful enough to thrive here - and everyone reading this ought to visit for themselves! The cheesesticks - omg, trust me! They have all kinds of good stuff to choose from. There's definitely no limitation to options available for those who may be considered as picky eaters... but one thing is for sure, you won't have any complaints or disappointment once you've tried one of "Chicago's Best's" specialties! ...unless youre one of those unreasonably difficult types who find enjoyment in being upset over nothing at all. Let's get real here... REQUESTING EXTRA SAUCE IS NOT DIFFICULT! I guarantee the delightful owner running the place would readily accommodate you if you had only asked! Sauce is definitely NOT a good reason to pass such a low rating if you don't even bother to take some control in pursuit of your personal peeference. Selfish, really , when put into perspective! Some people may not like extra sauce. Therefore, would it not be more sensible to go easy on the sauce and retain the ability to add more when desirable... hmmm, genius??! It really doesn't take a superior IQ to fathom it being harder to remove sauce from food instead of the reverse. Get another hobby or buy some common sense before giving away the only two you have. This segment is absolutely directed towards a preexisting and quite asinine review! I found it laughable at best until it clearly and unfortunately reduced the average of Google review stars. Don't pay attention to the dribble of some uptight Karen. Try it and you'll understand! The place could now easily be called "Chicago's and Nevada's Best" simply...
Read moreI’m a transplant here, a year and a half now, from Chicago I seen this restaurant on TikTok and wanted to See if it’s really Chicago’s Best. Of course, I’m gonna go with the Italian beef dipped with sweet peppers, but that’s for rookies.. My eyes were fixed on the breaded steak sandwich. Iykyk… I told the guy who took my order, the owner, I’m from Chicago and I wanted to order the breaded steak sandwich, and he said…Ricobene’s, and that was the trigger password that opened me up, and I knew I was talking to a fellow Chicagoan. Very tough shoes to fill because everyone from Chicago knows Ricobene’s has No equal. But I’m open minded…and have been on a search for familiarity of the cuisine I left behind in an area, that can’t grasp the quality and goodness that Chicago offers. I ordered: Breaded steak sammich Previously mentioned, Italian beef dipped with sweet peppers ( to go) Pizza puff (another Chicago staple) To go you ask? Best decision I made today! The star of the show was this monstrosity with a heaping side of fresh cut fries. And just like Ricobene’s, it had 2 big thin breaded pieces of steak contoured in the bun with what tasted like homemade south-side marinara specifically designed for this sandwich only, and topped with, crazy cheese pull, mozzarella. Cut in half. Now this part is what I love about the sandwich, The true test to a breaded steak sandwich is when you bite into it, It’s a clean bite with no fight and let me tell you this sandwich was spot on. Now remember the steak is folded over to fit into the bread so instead of biting it into two thin breaded pieces of steak you’re actually biting into 4 levels of steak. Top row of teeth meets the bottom row teeth, pull away from the sandwich…. clean That’s the perfect bite! Paired with the fresh-cut fries…FREAKIN AMAZING! At this point, I had a decision to make, Eat the second half of the sandwich or eat the pizza puff? 🤔 The breaded steak sandwich was so big, I can’t do both. So I went for the pizza puff and it brought me back to my childhood. So that’s why The Italian beef was a good decision for ‘to go’. On my drive back to Henderson the aroma of Italian beef is filling the entire cabin of my truck.and I want to at least taste it before it gets cold. About a 15 minute drive home, I bring it into the kitchen and open it up and this sammich is almost as big and the steak sammich. Great portions! I took a bite,two-tree, bread is soft with a heaping amount of Italian beef and it was dipped. The au jus or gravy was seasoned perfectly and not overly oreganoed like some places here in Vegas…you know who you are. I’m happy I found a good Italian beef place. 8/10 With an amazing breaded steak sammich (MUST TRY) 9.5/10 The pizza puff is original and the same as I remember. 8/10 I would refer Chicago’s Best to family and friends And I will be back because I have more cravings to...
Read moreFriday, November 1, 2024; Dinner carry out run! So tried the full rack of ribs tonight and another stellar food item! Very plush cut ribs with lots of tender juicy meat, crispy edges and succulent bbq sauce just falling off the bone. As with all the other menu items incredible. Really enjoyed the way it was cooked as many places cook the sauce linger on the ribs and this wasn’t cooked down into the rib.
See new item tried review at the end! Been meaning to try Chicago’s Best for some time. Fantastic and friendly service in a simple dine-in atmosphere.
We ordered take out over the phone. Loved it! Each sandwich came with a side of thinly cut home style French fries. The gyro was the best my husband has had since moving to Las Vegas/Henderson after a gyro location closed off Eastern and Russell a few years back. The pita was beautifully warmed with crispy edges and the meat with the sauce was nicely balanced.
The Italian beef’s ordered dry were truly Chicago style and again best we’ve had since relocating here in 2011 from the Chicago area. The beef was sliced thinly and very tender and flavorful; hints of seasonings it was cooked in with every morsel. Au jus on the side was made in house I’d believe and not just something poured from a can. The giardinera pickled vegetables seemed homemade and the perfect foil for the Italian beef sandwiches. And the bread was straight outta Chicago.
The cannolis had a nice bite to the pastry and the filling was rich. The mango and watermelon Italian ices were a refreshing ending to the meal. The fries were not the highlight but again this was a carry out and they were placed in styrofoam to go containers but while they were more soggy in the middle the ends had a nice crunch to them with a slight hint of salt. I plan to try ordering fries next time dining inside to compare and one of the pepper and egg sandwiches. Sorry no photos as the food smelled so incredible we devoured it. Thursday, July 18, 2024 - Love this place!! A night where dinner was not panning out at home so immediately thought of Chicago’s Best. It was minutes away from 7pm and even though they’re located 5 minutes or less from home I called to make sure this wonderful mom and pop location was not closing a little early. So sweet he said he’d stay open until I got there as they were thinking about closing a few minutes early. ❤️ New item tried was the pepper and egg sandwich and it was melt in your mouth scrumptious! Best one I have eaten so far, ever! Highly recommend this establishment. The others stuck to tried and true favorites with a gyro and the Italian beef as their choices of the day. Those were spot on as usual; polished off quickly as was the cannoli. If you haven’t been here to either dine in or do a carry out in my opinion you are missing out on something...
