This is an amazing spot. If you visit here in late summer it is like late spring everywhere else. Green grass, gorgeous wildflowers, and lovely temperatures. It is almost heavenly. This is because if you actually do visit in late spring you'll still find snow on the ground. The elevation is over 5500 feet, so the cold season sticks around a lot longer. There are some very easy trails around the lake if you just want to take a stroll, or you can hike some of the other trails for a bit more of a true forest adventure.
