I had the absolute best experience being pierced by Melinda yesterday with two friends.

We had never been to this shop before and I had only communicated with Melinda via email. We were immediately blown away by how sweet and professional Melinda was. This was our first time visiting an APP-certified piercer, and the difference was incredible.

She took time to assess us each individually to ensure we had the proper anatomy for the piercings we wanted. She went as far as to suggest my friend just get one of two pairs of piercings she wanted, to better her chances of healing. This is the biggest green flag, showing the piercer actually cares and isn't just in it for the money.

The jewelry selection is wonderful, and she even brought out a wide selection of natural and artificial stone beads for my friend's captive bead rings, including local Yooperlight! We had such a great time picking jewelry.

She provided proof that our jewelry was sanitized in the Autoclave, which was very much appreciated.

She spent time ensuring we were happy with the proposed placement of our piercings, especially with my eyebrows, and made the actual piercing process as enjoyable as possible.

On top of all of this, we had such a good time chatting with Melinda as she was so easy to talk to and joke with. We never expected to have so much fun at this appointment.

All in all, this is our new go-to spot for piercings (well worth our 3-hour drive), and I will be recommending Melinda to every single person I know. A full star rating does not do her justice.

UPDATE ONE WEEK LATER: I had some issues with my jewelry and ended up needing replacement ends. I emailed Melinda outside of working hours and she responded immediately. We emailed back and forth a bit, she gave me tips to fix the issue, but I just made it worse. She offered to mail me replacement ends since I live 3 hours away, but I opted to visit her for help.

After trying to replace the ends with no luck , it turns out the barbells were faulty. This was a manufacturer issue and no fault of Melinda's. She ended up replacing the barbells, installing ends, and sending me home with a replacement end just in case, all free of charge. Once again, I was blown away by her attention to detail and amazing attitude. She is an absolute pleasure to visit. She was also sweet enough to recommend a local spot to get lunch, and share coupons for a local rock shop.

This experience has just further solidified my satisfaction with Melinda and her services. At this point I think I'd trust her with my life. I will never get pierced...

Went in for my first-ever piercing today.

Melinda was AWESOME. Metal as hell. Loved everything about her and the place. Awesome atmosphere. She was amazingly friendly and professional. Answered EVERY question both I and my girlfriend had in intricate detail (including both pros and cons of "Should I do this?" type questions.)

She even goes out of her way to ensure the comfort of her guests. From seating to even asking what kind of music they like to listen to. I was absolutely blown away at how far she was willing to go to try and make us feel welcome and safe in her establishment.

Pricing was even really good for a professional shop! And, with the option to tip at your fingertips, paying AND tipping with a card is super easy!

Her displays are even AWESOME! Cribbage boards are creatively used for some of the piercing samples, and it gives a sense of Michigan to the store; as well as new life to otherwise forgotten works of art.

I might get a second piercing in the same ear, later on. If I do, I'm sure as hell going back to see Melinda....

i’ve gone to Melinda for all of my piercings/re-piercings and i absolutely love her. she’s so sweet, makes you feel so comfortable and does such a wonderful job. she walks you through all the steps right from picking jewelry, sterilizing it, cleaning the piercing spot, making sure you’re comfortable with where your piercing(s) are after she marks the dots and, tells when you’ll feel a pinch, reminds you every time to take a deep breath in and out and thoroughly goes over the aftercare. i would recommend her...
