Da earliest Landmark da sand finger extendin into da bay from which surveyor Eli Royce platted Escanaba inland, Became da focal point 4 what iz now known az Ludington Park, It iz named after former gov of Wisconsin Harrison Ludington. Land 4 da park waz 1st purchased in 1893. Wen much of da present park lay underwater da 1st structure built in da park waz da Light Tower & light Keeperz House built in 1867 & rebuilt after da fire of 1886. Da house became Coast Guard headquarterz but da tower waz dismantled in 1939 after a automatic light waz placed off da point. Da man-made island link 2 da park waz created in da 1930z filling areaz of da shoreline & extendin Sandpoint. Dredgin 4 da current Yacht Harbor added sand 2 a low Sand Bar which lay off shore. Formin what waz 1st called Sand Island & now Aronson Island named after a former city manager. Current Pathwayz & benchez, a small boat launch & Landscapin of da island wer...

Ok playground, greatly in need of an update First things first the playground is very dirty And is in disrepair spider webs dot the playground when we went there was a kid who was very clearly sick we tried our best to keep distance and especially when he puked on the playground in front of us The parents just ignored the happening we tried to head to a small area to the side but a lady with a large dog off its leash thwarted us as we circled back to the playground sick kid was back with a dog and he brought it right into the center of the playground just ignoring the no dogs allowed rule posted in the front very clearly and one final thing fix your seesaw handles they are freakishly short and my brother who is 12 fell of from the top when first raised truly there was never a more horrible excuse for a handle in the world all in all a terrible place...

Great big park with lots to do. Many sport activity's including basketball, football, sofball, baseball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, and disc golf. Kids Kingdom kids play area with public restrooms. Big pervilion for rent to host parties. Lots of park benches and picnic tables. Public water fountains/bubblers for water needs. Close by public bandshell for local entertainment. Paved sidewalks throughout the park. Close to arson island with has a beach house for showering, and changing clothes. Life guards are actively on duty during summer months. Also has a nice boat launch and parking area for vehicles. Small fee may apply for launching and parking. Park is also pet friendly. But please keep your animal on a lease when not playing them. Also please clean up after your pets and yourself. Public garbage cans are on-site for your...

I always like to tell a story of my out-of-town trips. In the background pictured a bridge. Two kayakers were traveling under the bridge, as I was going over the top. So I went home and told people I ran over two kayakers. My wife caught it right away. One thing interesting is that they have a disc golf course within the park. I find that interesting because I know a person or two that does that for fun and recreation. They have a huge playground area for the kiddos. They also have pit toilets and portable toilets that get maintained regularly. I have seen dogs in the park. I don't know the particulars of that.

AWESOME place to go. Lots of great play equipment for the kids & very well maintained. Cool musical sets for the kids to play on (drums, xylophone, chimes, etc) We stayed in Escanaba for 3 days & we spent @ least 4 hrs each day here. Nicely kept grounds w/lots of picnic tables & room for everyone to spread out. Plenty of trees to escape the hot sun. Clean restrooms & if there isn't one close by they have CLEAN portapoties available. BEST public city owned park I've been to 40+ years! A+
