I would not recommend going to this nail salon and if you do, make sure to ask how much everything is going to be. I made the mistake of assuming it would be reasonable to get a pedicure and a manicure âfillâ. I called ahead to see if they filled acrylic. I was told that they did and so I went in. When I got there I had an appointment so they saw me right away. I was shown a book of their pedicures and I chose one that was listed as $45 in the book. The tech then told me she could fix my damaged toe nail, I said that would be great thinking it wouldnât be that much more in cost. As I was looking for a gel color (that should have been included with the pedicure as it was listed as pedicure & gel for $45) the tech showed me a pallet of ânewâ colors that used a magnet to make a design on the polish. I loved the colors so I chose one off that pallet. My manicure tech then asked if I had dip on my nails. I said no it is acrylic over my real nail and I would just like them filled. ( they were in bad shape as I waited too long to get them filled). She then filed them down to my nail and proceeded to put dip on them. When I said thatâs dip not acrylic she says âyes non toxicâ. Okay I accepted that as they were a non toxic salon. But then why say you fill acrylic when I called ahead? I asked for a simple light pink acrylic (which ended up being dip) and a little bit of silver on the tip Ombre going down my nail. While I was getting my nails painted the receptionist asked for my payment and proceeded to tell me it was $150đł. I asked for a receipt and she asked if I wanted to include a tip. I believe in tipping well and both nail techs did do a beautiful job. So I said 20% for each. ( knowing this would bring my price up but I again they did a beautiful job). I was given my card and receipt on the way out. I went to my car and looked at the receipt after paying $185 for a manicure and a pedicure. They charged me $60 for a pedi with gel. ( I asked for the $45 pedi) Another $13 for the ânewâ magnetic polish. And another $6 for ACRYLIC on 2 toes! She only fixed one and the other tech basically told me they donât do acrylic as itâs toxic, which is why she did dip on my fingernails instead of acrylic, which is what I asked for. My mani was $55. She charged $7 to file down my previous acrylic and then an extra $10 for the little bit of silver ombrĂ© on the tips as a design. Iâve never been to a nail place that charges so much money for everything and not being honest with their price lists. Needless to say, I will never go back and I donât recommend going here unless youâre prepared...
Read moreI really tried to make this salon work after moving to the area â I gave Prestige Nail 8 chances over the span of 3 months. Unfortunately, Iâve reached the point where I have to give up.
Each visit came with some issue â whether it was with the service, billing, scheduling, or all of the above. Twice they rescheduled my appointment last-minute, only for the technician to question why I was âlateâ (I wasnât â I came at the newly scheduled time).
My first visit was a disaster: I brought a reference photo and was very clear about what I wanted â simple, clean nails, nearly identical to what I already had. Still, the shape, color, and length were all wrong, and the tech didnât ask for my input until she was already halfway done. I expressed that I wasnât happy, but she continued anyway. When I checked out and gave polite feedback, I was told, âIâm sorry. Thatâll be $63.â
Over time, I started noticing inconsistent billing â I was charged different amounts for the same service nearly every time. When I asked about it, the receptionist (Giana) was consistently rude and dismissive. On my last visit â the final straw â I was again overcharged. I questioned it, and she adjusted the bill, only to immediately add another charge (for a nail fix I shouldnât have needed in the first place). I had brought in the actual broken nail to show them it hadnât been properly sealed â you could visibly see where water got in and fungus had started to form. I tried to explain this to Giana, who demanded âproofâ in the form of photos, even after I told her I had the actual nail â which was in the techâs trash bin. Only when I insisted Iâd retrieve it did she finally relent and ask how I wanted the refund.
In just 3 months, I developed fungus on 3 nails â something that never happened in 2 years of regular nail maintenance elsewhere. Iâve also had at least 6 nails break within a week of leaving the salon.
Thereâs more I could say, but ultimately: this salon is disorganized, inconsistent, and poorly managed, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place so much so that the first time I came and got a lumpy full set I thought maybe it's a bad day. The second time, I came for a pedicure and gel x. The person doing my pedicure suddenly stopped my massage, when I went to look SHE HAD FALLEN ASLEEP WHILE RUBBING MY LEGS. They gave me $10 off for it, so I came back for a 3rd time, hoping this time would be the time I have a great visit. I get my pedicure from Tina, she is great. Get your pedicures from Tina. My hands, however, were bad. I asked to have my gel x removed and hard gel on my fingers, i also asked to have my cuticles cut. This usually includes cuticles getting pushed back, then cut. She rips the first two nails off using a nail tip. Because she didn't soak my fingers in any sort of acetone or gel remover, she rips 2 of my real nails that I had tried so hard to grow out. She then just clips the rest off, throws tips on the messed up ones and says "it's because they're uneven". She proceeds to file down the gel x nails, to even out the texture to my real nail. Thinning out the 3 weeks of natural nail growth. She doesn't do my cuticles, she uses the machine then trims whatever is hanging off in stead of pushing them down (the white stuff in the pictures are my cuticles). They're thick and lumpy and she didn't clean underneath so on some nails I'm not sure I'll be able to clean them with the gel underneath (see pictures). When the front desk attendant asked me whats wrong, I told her that I would just fix them myself at home because I felt SO RUSHED towards the end. Then the nail tech was confrontational and proceeds to go to the desk and explain why she didn't push and cut my cuticles when she heard me tell the front desk staff what was wrong. I felt super uncomfortable. The front desk gave me another $10 off, so I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because at least the front desk...
