This is a mixed review. Some good and some not so good. Took iPhone in for screen repair.
Point 1) They don’t use original equipment. They use non Apple replacement. Not so much the fault of the repair service as Apple. It’s well documented Apple wants ALL independent repair of Apple products stopped. Apple is highly anti competitive on this subject.
They replaced the screen and called us to pick up the phone. After a week or so my daughter complained her phone repeatedly locked up. I told her to completely erase and tell me if it happens after being wiped. It did. Fortunately we took video of the issue and had evidence of the behavior.
Took phone back and CPR was willing to work on the problem which brings me to:
Point 2) Company demonstrated willingness to help and put the phone through their “diagnostics” which of course did not reveal an issue. I do not recall if they changed the screen or not but they called us and said the phone was ok. Daughter went to get phone and it froze by the time she walked outside.
So back to the bench.
Rather than describe the ensuing back and forth I’ll end this by saying CPR called and said they found out that a batch of screens they get from their supplier was “bad” and the root of the issue which brings us to:
Point 3) It’s not the consumer’s job to find these issues and haggle with a technician about whether the problem actually exists. Fortunately the video evidence proved the point. Whatever diagnostics they use simply are not good enough. I don’t care that a piece of software says my phone is fine when the phone repeatedly locks up. That is a failure of the diagnostic software.
While CPR demonstrated a willingness to help resolve the problem (which is why the rating got three stars) the quality control for replacement parts and the diagnostic software they use is questionable at best.
In the end they replaced the screen again and the phone has been working fine since then. We spent several hours of our time driving back and forth, explaining the issue, and debating the existence of the problem. When CPR finally admitted their aftermarket screens were the culprit, they really should have refunded the repair cost or at least given us the screen at cost and the labor for free. They didn’t.
So they are polite, they stayed engaged and willing to help although too often they said “our diag says it’s ok”, and they did get the phone fixed in the end.
Unfortunately the process wasn’t as clean as it should have been and we spent far more of our time resolving this than we should have while the company did nothing to compensate us for our time and effort identifying their bad...
Read moreThis is the best phone repair shop I have ever been to. I will never step foot in another after my experience with CPR here in Eustis.
My wife's water broke last Thursday and we rushed to the hospital. We were stuck outside the shop around 6:30, and with the baby on the way we had no other choice but to find somewhere safe for my beautiful wife, Debra, to give birth. Six CPR workers saw our predicament and came running out of the store. Before we knew it, they carried my wife inside the phone repair shop and each volunteered their shirts to make a comfortable spot for Debbie to lay.
I have never seen such buff, beautiful men. And I'm 74 years old and fully straight. Well maybe not fully after this.
Anyway, it all happened in a flash. 6 shirtless men surrounded my gorgeous wife as she pushed out our 8th child. It was a miracle. Doctors had told us for the past 2 decades that we'd never have any more children. But these men were so skillful with their hands (probably from fixing phones for a living) they somehow yanked that thing out in about an hour. The store had closed over half an hour ago, but they were determined.
Right before my eyes, my baby daughter was born. My wife and I cried, the men cried, the baby cried, and everything was covered in whitish goo. They wrapped our baby Constance up in a dry shirt, handed her to us, and asked for nothing but a good review. Needless to say, they earned it.
If they can do that with my wife imagine what they could do with your phone....
Read moreIf you have any computer concern, I highly recommend CPR in Eustis. Took my Apple Watch in because face came off. CPR explained they could not fix it as good as Apple, which is completely understandable. They offered to sell me a replacement. Not brand new, but not refurbished either. When it came in, Will paired it with the phone and updated it and took care of ALL the things that Apple wants and we have no clue about. Will was fantastic. He worked on the watch and answered all our questions. While we were there, many customers came in for cell phones and laptops. Everyone left with working devices.
As it turned out the Apple Watch I got from CPR wouldn’t hold a charge so I took it back in and they couldn’t make it right fast enough. They got a replacement watch in two days. When I asked how many times this happens with a replacement watch, they said they’d never seen it before, so it was just one of those things. The positive side is they took care of the problem immediately and updated it and set it up like the first time. You won’t go wrong going to COR Cell Phone...
