First we waited 45 mins to be seated and virtually no one there. Only to learn they have 8-9 Hibachi's seating 12 people each and only 3 chefs. 6-7 tables full of people and as we were being seated a woman who was seated when I arrived was just receiving her drink. Again we waited 45 mins. I needed to use the rest room after ordering our drinks 3 sweet Teas 1 coke 1 apple juice. I enter the bathroom which is right beside the kitchen and wanted to gag immediately. The bathroom wreaked of raw sewage. I returned to our table to discover our Tea; all 3, were sour and had floating debris in them. Another 15 mins to flag down a table washer to get a server and replace our drinks. I went outside to smoke. While calming my nerves and the urge to yell at someone I notice KiKu has been POSTED by code enforcement to cease and desist construction on building, sewage, and electrical. What is this establishment even doing open? Are you serious? I loved this place. Management should be ashamed. The amount you are charging to lie to people is fraud. Under staffed severely and unsanitary 100%! If you can smell feces in the air that strong you are possibly inhaling fecal matter and that should be cause enough for you to respect the supporting community and not bring potential harm to them. I am mad because we were seated with a couple who were weekly guests and it was their anniversary. Nice couple; accept the rest of us at the table were treated like peasants and basically after they were served the other party of 4 and our party were served their left overs. I and my fiance ordered NY Strip and Calamari. We were served Sirloin and imitation Calamari. $21.95 per plate. We asked for it rare it was well done. My daughter ordered Chicken and shrimp. He gave her shrimp to the Anniversary couple. And when I mentioned it; he took his sweet time getting it until we were just ready to leave. I dropped roughly $150 for dinners we didn't order; our appetizer a Shrimp Tempura Roll. We just ordered this same appetizer last visit. This time $9.50 got us half a roll. This was the worst ever experience and upon cashing out I inquired about my issues to be rushed to cash out. They acted like they couldn't understand English. Offered me 20% discount to return. No I want my money back. Thank you come again. Ugh! I am calling the health dept. And they also have live roaches in their bathroom and sour flies. Do yourself a favor find a new Hibachi Grill to enjoy. They're all expensive but this place is just a Communicable Disease looking for a new...
Read moreReally disappointed this visit. Normally I enjoy Kiku but today really let me down. I arrived during lunch on a Tuesday looking forward to a nice lunch sushi special. I sat down and was greeted by a polite server. When it came time to place my lunch special order, I was informed that they were not allowing orders from the lunch menu. When I inquired why, I was met with a confused response. Only after speaking to who I believe was the manager on duty did she refer me to an extremely small, hand written note off to the side of one of the doors outside. It simply said “dinner all day” nothing about an exclusion of lunch options. I again asked why the lunch special wasn’t being honored, and was told it was simply not available. I did not continue my order, and may not return, as these events severely disrupted the limited time I had to enjoy a meal. This experience soured an establishment I previously enjoyed visiting. I hope the owners will rectify this, and at the very least take more of an effort to inform customers about changes to their pricing and menu. Beware when visiting that what you see may not be what you get, and if you go during lunch, expect to pay dinner prices for...
Read moreFirst time here and possibly the last time. We went based on the general positive online reviews. However, we arrived to a less than half filled restaurant, just before 7 on a Friday night. We were given an option to squeeze in with a group already seated or wait about 15 minutes for a table.
We chose to wait, seeing as it wasn't crowded and 15 minutes wasn't that long. About 20 minutes later we were seated. Unfortunately, that turned into another 50 minutes of waiting for our chef to arrive. No one was was in a rush, not even an apology or attempt to remedy the situation.
During our initial wait, we went to the bar, where a very entertaining staff member provided good humor and good drinks. No one else, and I mean NO ONE else was even close to being as lively and engaging.
Once our chef arrived, our enthusiasm for the experience was already gone! A family seated with us was celebrating their daughters birthday. We felt bad for them. They said they had been here before, told us the food is good, but we're also surprised at how bad the wait was.
Food was good, but not so good that I would be okay with waiting well over an hour for a half...
