This old city park has everything. A beautiful lake with a fountain in the middle is at it's center with a sidewalk/trail and road that circles it. There is all sorts of wildlife here, including various species of fish in the lake. To the northwest end of the park you will find access to the Pigeon Creek and the accompanying Greenway Passage. It runs from the southwest side of the park along its edges to the northwest side. There are basketball courts and Little League baseball fields on the south-southwest end of the park and on the southeast end is the famed Bosse Field, one of the first baseball stadiums built in the entire country. Bosse Field is home to the Frontier League's Evansville Otters. Garvin Park has a few shelter houses available and last but not least, a city swimming pool found on the south end of the park. During the wintertime Don Mattingly Way, which is the the road that goes through the park, is set up with many different festival lights to celebrate the Christmas season, called Ritzy's Fantasy of Lights. So in conclusion, if you want to have some quality outdoor time with your family and/or friends, this park should be more than adequate. Take a visit...

There is a great amount of greenspace for your friends and family gathering needs! And with that being said, parking did not appear to be an issue. There seemed to be several trail and path options to explore! I valued being close to the beautiful aquatic center and having access to all of the fun events taking place at the park.
The day I came was full of family, friends, and laughter. The events and thrill of experiencing the local events and Aquatic center just topped it off! I hope your experience is...
